Where is the best place to get a new Mezz cue nowadays? I checked on the Mezz USA website and a couple that caught my eye were apparently sold out.

They picked a good time to do it to be honest... minimize output, maximize profit. That's what building a good product with a good brand entitles you to do.Mezz seems to have adopted a similar marketing strategy to Beanie Babies!!!
Why Mezz cues are in short supply has been asked-n-answered on here. CliffNote version?? Very simple: they can't make enough to supply the demand. Not rocket science folks. They don't make near as many as some seem to believe, its a fairly low output operation when compared to many production cues. As for the industry/market in general i don't see anything 'off' or out of place. Simple supply and demand. As long as buyers are willing to spend the asking $$ prices will remain high. There seem to be a lot of pool-related products that are out of stock.
I'm not sure that it's a marketing thing. I had a thread about it. You go to all the big websites, and half of the items are out of stock.
I don't think that the reason is that they are selling like crazy all the time.
Prices are crazy as well.
30 years ago, you would get a nice American-made cue with 2 shafts for $400; in today's money, it's like $840, but similar cues would go for $2000.
Something is off with the industry

You might be on too something. I am on a wait list for a pair of Hoka running shoes.. Out of stock nationwide. They are produced in Vietnam by a Chinese company. At this time they’re 170 bucks. No idea if they will be more or ever available again!!!There seem to be a lot of pool-related products that are out of stock.

Seriously, $170 for injection molded foam? That seems crazy to me and I am all for spending money on QUALITY footwear. You might be on too something. KBCues in Norway has an ASTR 234 in stock, at least I was able to put it in my cart. JJCues in California has some of the fancy Avants in stock as well. As far as I can tell, the new AF series, ACE 218, ASTR 23, EC9, CP21 and the sneaky petes are gone from all dealers worldwide. Lots of used Mezz on Ebay for very high prices.Where is the best place to get a new Mezz cue nowadays? I checked on the Mezz USA website and a couple that caught my eye were apparently sold out.

Your best bet is to buy Japanese. They seem to be the only country that produces goods from their own country.Seriously, $170 for injection molded foam? That seems crazy to me and I am all for spending money on QUALITY footwear.
Foam is insanely cheap and does not last very long.
Yes I do. I should have a ASTR-233 available next week. Mezz have incredibly long lead times now and supplies are very irregular.KBCues in Norway has an ASTR 234 in stock, at least I was able to put it in my cart. Those sneakies were nice. I had a Cocobolo sneaky many years ago, that I still kick myself for selling.Yes I do. I should have a ASTR-233 available next week. Mezz have incredibly long lead times now and supplies are very irregular.
I have just about every Mezz cue available as a pre-order with Mezz and when I get them they usually sell out right away.
Mezz haven't updated their website in a while so a few of the cues on there are actually discontinued.
This goes for all the CP-21 series cues, except CP-21Y and CP-21CM. In the ACE series 2182, 2183 and 2186 is discontinued and will not be available after the last pre-orders leave the factory.
The sneaky pete series has been discontinued for some time.
I hope this helps.

Their hiking shoes are banging! There's a Finish brand I like that make nice running and hiking shoes also, called Karhu. It’s the world we live in.
It’s insane how many doctors, nurses and other health professionals at Duke Hospital wear them and swear they are the best footwear they’ve ever owned.
So I intend to give them a whirl hopefully sooner than later. Worse than the price of those. I just bought a pair of shoe inserts for 70 bucks…
Talk about crazy!
Even in Asia, that could be considered true. My first cues were Mezz, and sold both for more than I paid for them.Mezz cues are unicorns.
