Mezz pb2

I bought a mezz pb2 and was shocked at the way the balls just explode from the rack. I have preety good break with a regular stick. Heres the problem- the balls exploded from the rack but so does the cue ball. I just cant control the cue ball with this stick(lots of scratches). Anyone else have this problem? I couldnt take it any more and cut the tip off and installed a samsara tip. The stick still crushes em and now I can stop the cue in front of the rack. It is slightly toned down. Just want to know if anyone else has a simular experience with this cue and what might be their way of using this stick. Maybe my break doesnt need such a powerful stick?

I just traded my BK2 for the PB2 with a friend. All I can say is this thing is amazing!

I did have the same issues with cue ball control but I made a couple changes which helped. My tips was fairly round so I made it almost completely flat. This should give you a larger sweet spot when hitting the cue ball.

My BK2 was about 17.2oz and my PB2 19.1oz. I took out the balance weight bolts but left it the butt weight bolt. This dropped the cue down to about 18oz with a slightly more rear weight bias.

Now I can pulverize the rack and still park the cue ball!

I'm contemplating weather to buy the "Deep Impact Pro" shaft or not. It's pricey for sure but if it improves this already awesome break cue it just might be worth it!

the pb3/pb pro is about to come out. i think it comes with the new dp pro shaft which is just amazing. i've broken with a pb3 and believe it or not i think its even better than the pb2.

everyone i know that tried out the pb2 and was looking to purchase a new break cue. stopped after they tested the pb2. on an 8ft table i also had trouble keeping the cue ball on the table.

I haven't tried changing the tip yet because I didn't want to mess anything up with the stock tip. But now i'm used to the cue *had it about year* I have pretty good control.

Can't believe the pb3 can hit any better than the pb2.

so what's different with the pb3?

You guys need to cut back on the break. You do not need to slam the balls and break at 150mph. Change the speed of the break and you will see what I am talking about.

This is the best advice. The rack will explode anyway, why force it even more. Go for CB Control than slamming it so hard.

It was also mentioned to almost flatten the tip, that is a good advice as well. Used to not like the DeepImpact(DI) shaft, as I can't control the bloody thing(CB). So, I use the old PB Break Shaft with Pressed Ingot Tip. When the DeepImpact Pro(DIpro) shaft came, I really liked it. Need even lesser power to break. Uses Sonic Tip as well. It is shaped flatter than DI. I then shaped my DI the same way, lo and behold, the DI broke good.

As to PB3, it can be called anything you want, the major difference is the DIpro shaft.

Does anyone know when the pb3 will be for sale? Have been shopping for a break cue and will buy between now and bca's. Maybe the PB3 if it's in vegas or the PB2. Hope to try 1 out my first day there (Mon 17th) Thanks in advance for any info.

I will be in Vegas for the BCA from the 14 to 23rd. You can call me at 209-482-7768 while there. I'll have my PB2 with a Samsara tip since BCA does not allow synthetic tips.
I have my chunk of reserved PB3 from Mezz coming in the end May, possibly first week of June.

Hey danktrees if you get one send it to me so i can try it out ??

Like I said. I have a batch of PBIII reserved for me already. I think the price might be mid to high 400's.

you guys really need to cut back on the break eventhough its small it packs a punch. I've had mine for a while and now i can hit really hard but when i do i do this:

Break from the box, i grip the pb2 about 4-6" from the end of the cue (and im 6'2") and when i break i usually do a kill shot. so as soon as the tip hits the cue ball i adjust the angle of my cue which isnt good but i have broken with the pb2 during matches and have had the cue ball land in the same region almost the same spot dozens of times.

You can break from the side but i usually loose control of the cue when i do that, and also i usually only do cut breaks from the side.

what happened to pb3 ? Has he come out already?

The PB3 is actually called the PB Pro, will be out in a few weeks.
I have people lined to get the first ones. I have to follow the guidelines from Mezz on pricing and the best price will be $456.25.
Cues will go out on a first come first served basis...

from the looks of it, it features the deep impact pro shaft with the butt at normal length. thats kinda good  but the colour seems a little too dull
