Mezz shaft owners, have you tried Ex Pro?

I've been a long time HP2 player, and I really love it, I like its hit and everything about it, I know I shouldn't change shafts if I already love mine, but I want to try something new, and this new mezz shaft is the same diameter 12.5mm as my HP II, but also it says on the site has lower deflection, and its material is almost the same, so my thinking that I will like it.

But lets be honest it is kind of heavy on the wallet, so thats why I'm here asking you, how similar it was from your previous mezz shaft, did you like the Ex Pro? do you recommend it for me? thanks

Mezz ExPro

First of all, yes it is an expensive shaft. I shot with my new ExPro a week ago for 6-8 racks, and I would say that hp2 is stiffer than ExPro. For me, the feel is similar (but not too close) to wd700. I never tried the Alpha and the wx900, so im just comparing it to WD700 and HP2. If HP2 has the least deflection (base on what i read and heard) before ExPro came out, then I would say that ExPro has the least deflection among all shafts by Mezz.
The Zan soft tip that comes with the ExPro is a nice tip. After trimming 2 layers of the tip, i like the ping and grabs the ball very well.
I would not say that this shaft is highly recommended because of its price tag, but if you don't care of buying it on its price, ExPro is definitely a shaft to go.

If you think price won't hurt you, I suggest grab one and you might end up selling your HP2 or just make it your back up shaft.

Thanks for the advice, rep to you sir.

Can I further ask, what do you mean by hpII being stiffer, do you feel that the ex pro wabbles when you hit with it? because I hate that, I like hpII because its stiff, if ex pro moves alot and vibrates after shots, i dont think i will like it, can you elaborate pls

Expro's deflection is quite the same with hp2. The one thing you will or will not like is the taper. It has a long taper and straight pro taper. That gave the shaft a little flex than hp2. The soft tip that comes in could give the impression that it is lower in deflection but it is not. The tip could hide the true deflection when you just shoot a ball as it could curve back earlier.

If you have tried alpha, try imagining a thinner shaft than alpha and longer taper. I believe they are almost made the same specs with alpha being 12.8 and expro at 12.5.

Personally, i liked the shaft. It happens to have the same taper and diameter of my first custom cue so i just felt home when i used it.

I measured one here http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=400849 The taper actually grows thicker than a few other low deflection shafts around 10" to 15".
