Mezz VS Predator

Hey guys,

I've been chatting with Mika, and he keeps trying to push a Mezz cue on me. I'm cautious to take his advice as I'm already playing with a pretty decent cue - a predator IKON with a 314-2 Shaft. I'm mainly apprehensive because Mezz is his sponsor and of COURSE he would recommend their cues to people.

What do you all think of Mezz cues VS Predator cues? Should I invest in a Mezz?

I read a lot of people say Mezz is the best production cue out there?

Yes, I have heard the same thing - but why do so many pros use a predator shaft? Seems like the number of pros using predator shafts is much greater than the number of pros using mezz.

I'm definitely considering buying a Mezz.... but somehow I don't think it'll make me shoot like Mika lol =/

predator has been around a long time I guess? Tell Mika to let you try his cue and see if you like it and I think mezz has a lot of asian pro's using there cues?

You should invest in your practice time:)
There are no magical cues. Both, Mezz and Predator are good cues, so if you switch to a Mezz you'll have a good cue, but that cue wouldn't play without you.

However, I think that Predator and Mezz cues are overpriced.

I practice 30-40 hours a week already... I think that is enough!

Mika did let me hit with his Mezz, and I have to say I really liked the hit... however, I think the action I get on the cue ball is basically the same...

Has anyone tried jumping with a full length mezz cue? Some cues you can jump with, but predators are basically impossible to jump a full ball with a full length cue. I'd really like to jump with my playing cue (I can with some house cues already)

I was hitting some balls with Shane, and he was jumping balls with his full cue (low deflection cuetec) and he tried jumping with my predator, and said it was pretty much impossible to do.

Mezz cues are f'n great. the prices are steady on the rise though wich is the only major flaw imo. every mezz i've owned or tried is balanced great and put together with care and precision.

Both are excellent.

I personally prefer Mezz for quality control and aesthetics, plus they offer a selection of shaft types that range from a natural hit, to a dead hit. The owner Kaz is also a great guy.

Predator is also great assuming you dont get a defective unit. I played with one for years and swore by it until I tried Mezz.

I don't think you can go wrong with either, so it comes down to personal preference. The new OB series looks nice as well.

Then again, what do I know? :p
