Micarta or Ageis?

I just got a custom cue that was made 5 years ago. I asked the cue maker in person what type of ferule he put on it. He said micarta. The local cue guru said it was ageis. OK now before you flame me for doubting the guy that made it,it was 5 years ago and he uses juma now. Is there any way to tell by looking at it? I looked closely and it looked like it was woven on an angle. It is pure white.
Would this post be better in the "Ask the cue maker section"?

Yea I think you'd get a better response down there. Kinda sounds like a Micarta though. That or linen melamine.

I think white indicates it it is not micarta...

If it were Micarta, after 5 years, I believe it would have yellowed by now.
