Without your high-fives Allison will go 2 and out for sure :D

I'm going Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I really did not want to stay for the tv taping but Kathy wants to see it because she's never seen one before. Personally I don't care to watch 3 matches over the course of 8 hours.

What time Sunday did they get done in Peoria? The only one I've been to finished at 7 pm.

I am going for Thu, Fri, and Sat. When I got called for my tix, they said they were not doing VIP and that they were only selling 160 tix per day. Kind of strange. Anbody know if they have room size constraints or something? That seemed to be a pretty small number to me compared to when I went to Peoria and Tunica.

I'm going up for Saturday, then to Villa Park Sunday. It will be a fun filled weekend. :)

Wally,
I think it was about 7 or 7:30 P.M. for the finish at Peoria last year (I stayed till the end). At that time, Peoria was an hour earlier, so it was really 8:30 Indiana time. Right now Michigan City and Cincinnati are the same time zone (remember Indiana has NO Daylight Savings Time).

If they don't have VIP Seats I will never attend another women's event.

"Gremlin" :cool:

G-man,
I called the casino in Michigan City for tickets; they've never heard of VIP seats - they had no idea such things existed. Guess I'll have to buy another cushion.

i've been to all 3 of the Peoria WPBA events, and stayed for the TV rounds every time. i think it was in 2002 that it didnt get over till about 8:00 because the ESPN crew's equipment kept malfunctioning, or something.

normally, its around 730 or so. does make for a long day, especially considering they dont sell any food in the outer lobby. but it can be somewhat interesting, especially if you get to sit in the VIP section like i did in 2003, right next to the players. of course, shaking Allison's hand on TV last year (2004) was pretty cool too.

Wally/WillieB,
enjoy your time next week. i am planning on being in Peoria again this year, i assume i will once again drive over friday and be there for the friday night rounds, and stay for the TV rounds also.

regards,
DCP

Don't worry if you miss it. ESPN will show it in countless reruns as fillers unless it is preempted by a scrable tournament or spelling bee. If you can't wait to see the results look at some old WPBA shows that ESPN have shown. Either Allison, Karen or Lee will win and you may see some other player that just happens to be one of their opponents at the time.

Hey Wally, I was looking for Sunday tickets, but they were already sold out. If you really don't want to stay, I'll buy your tickets from you.

Wally, thanks anyway...I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. I normally hit tournamnets for the day by myself or with other pool buddies. This time, I asked my wife if she'd be interested in watching the semi's and finals and she said yes. By the time I called for tickets, they were sold out. I'll be there all day on Saturday. I'll try to track you down and say hello. I'd also like to meet willie as well. I'll probably be wearing a black Olhausen hat and collecting autographs for my collection. Keep an eye out for me.

I've been to this "riverboat" casino before, as it's only about 35 minutes from my house. They have a very nice pavillion area that I would imagine will serve as the host room for the tourney. Obviously if what Charlie said a few posts ago, that they are only selling 160 tickets per day, it will be a cozy crowd. I'm looking forward to it!
