midsize cue smith?

any one have one for sale???

or a deluxe??

anyhting out there???

I thought you found a deluxe? Eric Wynne had a cue companion. That is a good machine equivalent to the midsize. Good price for what you're getting too. I don't know if he still has it.

If you really want a Hightower, why don't you just buy one from Chris? That's what I'm saving up for. From what I understand, you will get superior customer service that will last as long as you have the product. Just to see what I'm talking about, you can buy his basic video for $50. It will also give you a credit towards a lathe purchase. You will be thoroughly impressed with that video. I own them all, and now I am a jedi master cue maker.

I still have the one I sent pics to you on. As I stated it is a delux without the taper bars.
$1500.00
This has the large two chuck headstock.
Good luck in you search.

thats right i forgot about that one, does it have the router and powerfeed tho? and its missing the wrap motor foot pedal right?

im in the process of working out a deal on a old original deuxe its about 15 yrs old, but i have to be honest if i could get a newer one for under 2,000 i would do it.

no power feed or router. no peddle for the wrap motor. All I use it for is a sanding station. It's a little overkill for what I use it for.

You should just bite the bullet and get the delux complete setup from Chris. Then you won't ever need to worry about upgrading your equipment unless you just want more lathes.

i know but i really only have like 2000 and after tax and delivery its like 3300 from him and he said hes 4 weeks or so behind on building them.

for roght now i could get a midsize with router and powerfeed and be able to do most everything i need for now but i know i would be kicking my self in the future for not spending the extra 1300 and getting the bigger better lathe.

ill prolly just end up sinching the deal for the older lathe its kinda a good deal besides its age.

well im outta here ill be back on tomorrow when im back at work lol
have a good night guys!

PM Sent......I assume you can buy taper bars from Chris? Or make them

Trent, you can always purchase a PC router and bracket later. Same with
a wrap peddle, they're inexpensive. I'm sure with a bit of ingenuity you can rig up a taper bar from Chris at a later date or make something yourself.

ya, well im towrn in what to do im thinking of maybe buying a brand new midsize from chris with the router and powerfeed it will do alot and ill have it for under 2000, and after i need to progress it will still have a place in the shop as a finishing lathe and maybe a tournament lathe as well.

the midsize will do just about everything i want besides taper a shaft which isnt a big deal for right now.

looks like i might be getting a large metal lathe in the future as well, my fathers a machinist and is going to be going away for gunsmithing school so i might steal his for a while. or pick one up off of craigslist.

I have seen the machine and its all there and runs great. I have just bought a big lathe and other items or I would have bought this lathe when I was told about it. I am heading to Hot Springs today and wont be back home till Sunday and wont be able to speak with David till monday after work.
