A Big Congratulations to Mike Davis. My wife and I were watching and she sat there in the living room and clapped every time he won a rack and cried when he won the tournament. It was great to watch him string together that 5 rack run and then go on to win it all.

I want to thank Mike from AZBTV for all the streaming he did at this tournament. It was great.

I also want to thank everyone on here for all the kind words about Mike Davis's character. it warms my heart to hear them.

Thank You all, Mike Davis Sr

I liked your kid from the get-go. Stood up straight and looked you in the eye when he talked to you. Soft spoken and polite, I wondered where did this kid come from? He didn't grow up in a poolroom, that's for sure.

At first I thought he had the weirdest stance and long awkward looking stroke. But it was very repeatable and the balls kept going in the hole. Ask him sometime about the conversation we had before he played in the final matches at Reno for the first time? He was a little nervous, but I told him to savor the moment, this is what all the years of preparation were about. And a few other things too. Guess what, he won two great matches with Santos and Cliff.

Thank You, Jay

I really enjoy your posts, esp the ones about being an American in the Phillipenes. I will go there to visit one of these days.

As far as "where did this kid come from?" I posted a blurb about that in starting kids into pool thread, post 17.

Hope that gives you some insight into him playing pool. BTW, he learned that stroke after he left my teachings.
