Mike Dechaine

No, I would never put my sponsorships on the line. In fact, last year at a big tournament, I found out that one of the matches I bet on was rigged and I didn't make the guy pay me $500. I think its wrong.

Yes - that is what that means.

Were you sponsored in 2010? That's when you pulled this move.

You probably misheard. Or he was joking. Or he meant something else. You are quick to judge, but we've all been given the answer straight from The Fireball himself.

Like another poster said earlier, Lance Armstrong himself said he didn't cheat. I also believe Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, and Roger Clemens all said they didn't either. It's human nature to not want to incriminate yourself.

I just hope this thread makes people hesitant to bet on people who play a game for a living. Everyone is vulnerable.

This is a complete lie. I have never and will never "dump" a match. You don't know how many times people come up to me, probably in this circumstance, and want to set up someone using myself and I gladly pass. Man, some you guys have the nerve.

Mike, for the record, I was not saying I believed you had done that; I was merely explaining to ChrisBanks what was meant by what was stated. I don't know you well at all but have talked you numerous times at the US Open 9 Ball tournament & have found you to be very nice & enthusiastic as hell about pool. I've said many times to many people how much you impress me merely by coming on here & responding to what people are saying about you with no attitude or anger; you just answer their questions & state what you have to say. I look forward to watching you play for many years to come as I think you're only going to get better.

So who were the players so we don't try to bet on them in the future?

No I didn't. In fact, these people weren't pro's at all. Is this the way you tell stories, you get half the facts and fill in the rest??

Mike admitted that two pros dumped! WAKE UP! It happens more than you know. Why do you act like this?

Nobody would ever expect you to admit it, myself included. Not like you care, but you are on a short list of players that will get no support from me. I will never buy a PPV, DVD match, or product that you are a part of.

This is just rediculous. A statement like this hurts the sport more than Mike D. can. What about the other guy he is playing? What about the guy putting Mike in the mix, like TAR? What about if he is helping some guy make and instructional DVD, or doing a charity event?

Come on man, be reasonable.

Mike D. I'm sure has a checkered past. Who doesn't? Contrary to popular belief all pro's at some point or another have done something less than honest. It's the nature of the beast. Even Shane admitted to sharking on the stream the other night, and I've heard stories of other guys doing WAY worse than that.

I think Mike has proven he has the talent to compete for sure. I think his personal behavior and attitude can use some improvement, but who's can't??? Mike might not be the class act that some think he is, but he certainly isn't the scum either. He probably falls somewhere in the middle of the two arguments presented.

I honestly couldn't care less whether Mike is an A-hole or a saint. I'm going to support anything pool that I can. Building the sport back up will need people to root for and against so it really doesn't matter.

Funny how there is so much drama when a new guy is stepping up into the ranks. All the Shuff/Dechaine hate flying around and for what purpose? Can't we just get behind these young guys and advise them in the right direction, instead of tearing them down for what ever reason?

kind of disappointed, a little more than I was at first, with this thread.

Like him or hate him, WE SHOULD ALL SUPPORT POOL!!!

You said the match was rigged, what did I miss? Also, I apologize for assuming they were pros. Apparently you like to go to "big tournaments" and bet $500 on amateur pool. My bad.

Do you see Earl acting like a gentleman while he is competing? Not a chance. Maybe you forget that pool is a competition. We can be kind to one another once the match is over.

You make some valid points. I like TAR and support them whenever I can. I do not respect Mike so I won't be purchasing his matches. It may seem petty but it's my money.

Mike has time left in his career to change my mind, but I doubt he cares enough to. Everyone deserves a second chance, but they need to earn it with me.
