mike mccuene

I just posted up the story of the tournament. Along with some pictures of the 2 guys.

http://www.azpoolscene.com/BreakingNews254.aspx

I didn't know that they were buddies, and I was talking to Harry before the hotseat match. They were hanging with another guy that I played league with a few years ago, and I think he is an 8.

This guy definitely knew more than a 6 when it came to position and shape. I saw him aim to miss and throw the ball in, just so he could come around 2 rails for perfect shape. Rolling into zones instead of through them. Going the extra rail to pop out for shape, etc.

Being a 9 myself, I definitely wouldn't have given him any weight for the cash.

Also, doing the numbers, If he would have won the tournament he would have taken home about $240 and $0 for the calcutta as he didn't buy himself. Harry would have gotten $120ish and $120 for 2nd place calcutta, so $240 each. With Harry winning he got $240 + $260 = $500, and Mike got $120. (500+120)/2 = $310 each, so a $70 gain for each player. Which means Brian, the guy who had the calcutta lost out on $140 for his investment.

Thanks for the story and info

You are probably right, but Jason would have to chime in here. I think the 8 & under was atleast $500 for 1st place. Not sure on the scotch!

Unfortunately I couldn't be there for the Friday and Saturday, but I did witness him getting out with 5 balls, 7 balls, 7 balls, 8 balls to start the set against Veronica. When he was on the hill-0, he did miss the 8 ball only to go 2 rails and hook her behind the 9.

between the scotch, the 8 and under,(which he had himself in the calcutta) and the 6 and under he got away with more than 8 hundred i believe. i will check tomorrow in my book and see what the actual total damage was.

i dont really play leagues much other than the bca in house at sweet tooth. im sure we see each other around sometime take care!!!

That guy could play Jerry! That miss and safe shit he was doing all night on saturday. His mechanics and patterns he played were way above a 5 or 6 or 7 for that matter. Saturdays pay out must have been real good for him if he had himself in the calcutta. 1st paid 240 plus calcutta and 40 of that was mine. i should change my name from justabanger to "the donator". lol:thumbup:

the donater lmfao!!!! good stuff. tomorrow is my day off so we need to get together and play ;)

If you come into Raleigh, you're ranked as high as you can go the first time. Or, like a 7 on a 2-8 scale. As a seven, you'll be playing with other sevens. Most can put a rack or two together.

we normally make em play as a "10" but he fooled a nice person trying to be fair with what he saw. its not hard to fool someone into rating you low.

this guy?

Typical...

I have read a bit about the Arizona rating system via AZ Poolscene and I think it works out very well for the most part. What I'd like to know is who the GENIUS is that let this lowdown scumsuckin' hustla wannabe beznitch get rated as a 5 in the first place. Yeah, he got bumped to a 6 after sucking a few hundred out of your local scene, but it is still far beneath his apparent skill level. Therefore....

I'm nominating ol' Mike McCune to the "Needin' a stabbin'" club, along with the initial rater who let Mr. Runout in as a 5! Crawfish, send 'em the blade! :D Death to the sandbaggers of the world!

Okay, from a business point of view, it's more expensive to send me in as opposed to what they won. But, in the honor of Sam, pm me a location and I'll see if I can pull in a favor from our organization. Hey, you didn't think I was alone in my venture, did you? I will tell you though, we've all sandbagged a bit. It's business. You should send a "cutter" to the people that handed the rank and then handed them the cash. PROTECT THE LOCALS. Not the guy who drinks a Pepsi, doesn't tip, and demands the most from the place and employees, walks out on tabs, and is there to rape the people that spend money there on a daily basis. I don't understand the room owners that would put a player on a local. Makes no sense. Bad business.

that would be the turd we speak of lol. i almost fell out of my chair when i seen the file name !!!!

Well, he sure looks like an upstanding, fine example of a guy. Why judge? HHHMMMM, are we learning something here? Should be.

crawfish will have to get a bigger blade. it wasnt the guy who rated him's fault. we cant just kick people out of tourny at the first thought of sand bagging. we would have no players left. the room owner has added 3500 just to weekly tourny's in july so it's not like he pulled a major heist. i do second the vote to get the crawfish in az though!!!!

the camera doesnt show his trash sack of puddin he calls a gut. i learned one thing from this. dont eat whole cakes as breakfast ahahahaha

Abusin' the system! :(

Jason, I do like your system out there in Arizona. I'm quite envious of it in fact since my area is deader than Elvis. It's a shame that immoral a$$es like Mike occassionally slip through with success to the demise of the locals. At least, thanks to you, he's now been outted and hopefully won't be able to get away with the same move again.

Hmmmm, Arizona...cool scenery...good pool scene...I'm gettin' layed off come October 3rd...know of any available jobs out there?

Jason,

This is definately NOT the "Little Mikey" I know from PA. At first look, I thought it might be Will "Cecil" Paye (Payton) et al. His eyes are way too normal appearing. Cecil's go in two different directions and no inch thick glasses.

What you can't see behind this POS is the sign behind him actually says, "Welcome to Sweet Tooth Billiards! We are open till 7 a.m. everyday and cater to both pool and poker players alike. We have added $3500 to weekly tournaments in the month of July alone."

The trash bag full of pudding is exactly what it looked like, now I have to throw up again.
