Boy, he really is a talker....I can't believe he said this about Linda...(it's on the IPT website)...

"After one game like that I decided I’m not going to do that anymore, so I just decided to smash the rack and let her try to run, and I won like five games in a row. If she makes them all, then hey, good run, but she never did. She can’t run out. So that was my strategy, and it paid off—of course, I would never have done that with another player.”

It seemed kind-of harsh to say that she..."can't runout"...and that he wouldn't have done that with another player...

I'm leaving for Vegas on Wednesday to watch the last five days...I think that I'll sit close and watch some of Sigel's matches and see the arrogance in person...(if he's still in it)...

I wonder if he made any comments like this to Linda in person during the match?? Let us know if he did Linda.

Naw, his demeanor was arrogant, but then he deserves to be. He really did run out the first 2 racks with amazing dexterity.

Not owning up to a foul and belittling your opponent (I wish he had gotten one of the top 3 gals and the outcome might have been different), while constantly talking/sharking/whining does not become a champion, however.

I called a foul on myself on another match, where it turned the match around and my opponent didn't even see it. That, in my humble opinion should be the mark of a champion, not necessarily the score. ;)

Well, whatever he is doing is definitely not an act. If you interpret it as being an ass, then I guess that's what he is. :rolleyes:
 
Not a champion...

I don't care how far he gets in this tournament....he's no champion in my eyes for making a comment like that...

From eveything I've heard and read about him...it's no act...the guy has a huge ego and is a real piece of work...

I just think he has huge insecurities and it shows up. I don't condone it, but I certainly understand it.

And regarding his remark...it's ok, I wish I had been able to show him more what I was capable of. He may be a has-been, but I'm a never-was, so it's ok by me. Sticks and stones...

I interpret it the way I've always interpreted Mike S... he's a piece of s#*t.

Jake posed a question not too long ago.... something along the lines of wondering how Mike got so lucky as to have landed a good friend like KT... my response was that sometimes good things happen to bad people.

The guy is an absolute, classless, jerk.... always has been, always will be. This is not an act for the camera's or reporters...it is who he is.

Get_A_Grip, if you can stomach listening to him... more power to you. I personally can't stand to listen to him let alone look at him. :rolleyes:

Actually...I would like to hear some of his crap for myself...and hopefully it's in a match when he gets his butt kicked...

But like someone else said...once he gets in a match with one of the big guns...he'll probably be quiet as a mouse...but if he's not...I'll think that I might just enjoy hearing him whine a bit...

The only time I thought Mike S wasn't a total ass was while he was taking his licking from Efren. He laid the blame square where it belonged and his comments were humorous.

If he made those comments {and from past experience, he probably did} he needs someone to put him in his place. No matter if he plays as good or better than he did 20 years ago{ which I don't think he does} he needs to watch his mouth. He shows no respect for other players at all, and all the whining is just a sharking technique. I don't like him and I don't think he's good for pool. Hang in there Linda. Play your best and don't let the A-HOLES of pool discourage you. Sam
 
Linda I hope you knock his stick in the dirt one of these days. I hope one of the ladies wipes out the toilets with him during the ITP
 
I have never met Mike Sigel but from nearly every source he is described as a first class jerk, and obviously he is. HOWEVER...What is wrong with what he said? It doesn't suprise me that he used the same strategy many people that I know have adopted when playing a female opponent. I know females that use this strategy when playing a far less talented opponent, be it male or female! If you play tit for tat with an inferior player it keeps them close, and if Linda looks back at it she'll see that it was a sound strategy. If you look at the scores from all the matches I think that it will be obvious that this would have been a sound strategy against most of the women that were entered in this tournament, and against a good deal of the men as well.
As far as his demeanor and poor sportsmanship in not admitting to his foul, that I cannot defend. He deserves a punch in that big ol' nose for that, now that would make headlines! See you all on the table...........Marc
 
Nothing is as repugnant as a sore winner.

His next group is Group 46.

Sigel, Manalo, LJ Jones, Hann, Lohtander, and Catledge. Somehow, I don't think he's gonna do too well. Hann has already tried to get an opponent disqualified for using a phenolic tip. Let's see if he tries to get Sigel fouled for running his mouth and sharking. Plus he's gotta face Manalo. I hope Marlon wipes the floor with Mike's big ego.
 
Oh man oh man....... I watched the game vs linda on telli last night! I coudn't handle it and turned it of! What an ass this guy is! Are there no rules for this. For me it's simple you can talk as muxh as you like during your own game but please shut up when the other one is at the table! I would claim a foul everytime he opens it when i would be at the tabel!!:o
 
What he said about Linda is just horrible. To rub it in her face after she lost, that goes way beyond poor sportsmanship. She played on the TV table, she was nervous. She has never experienced anything like that before. Mike has played with that kind of pressure all his life. Mike is a POS, I hope he gets drilled, and then the player who drills him says something worse about Mike in the post-interview.
