Does anyone here know how to make them? If so what is the best tip to do it with? Thanks everyone.

Have a few question,

Do you squeeze the tip in a clamp immediately after taking them out from the milk? *ain't the milk absorbed by the tip gonna be oozing out? :o?*

How much milk do you use to soak the tip in?

Thanks =)

Lov'em! Don't know how to make em, so I just buy them from that famous chuck-o-late complany!

Mueller's is now selling premade "milk dud" tips called Dudley. 3 pack for $1.95, Box of 50 for $24.95. They are in the catalog (pg 124) but I don't see them updated on the website yet.

:scratchhead: Can we reuse the milk? What happens if you soak the tip with milk that has gone bad? :eek:
if the milk is bad it will "spoil" the tip and yes assuming the milk is not spoiled you can use the milk - some folks use it for pizza supposedly you don't have to worry about the crust mushrooming.

Anyone tried these from muellars??

I make two versions of these with elk master and triangle. I experimented with butter milk and heavy cream. The heavy cream mixture seemed to turn the tip a very dark color and also seemed to make the tip much more pliable.

I have since been playing with these compressed elk masters and they are the nuts.

I will send a sample tip to anyone who wants one for 3 bucks.

I bought one of their 3 packs, and they are just like the ones i make, or anyone else can make on their own.
So unless you make them yourself, then meullers is the cheapest you'll find out there. You cant beat $1.95 plus shipping for a 3 pack, and their pack of 50 is an even better deal.
Try them out, you wont be disappointed.

I've used them for about 2 years now, I soak a blue elk over night then press it
between two pieces of hardwood in a vice. You don't have a big fat tip like other new tips and they are easy to put on because you don't have to worry about centering a 13mm tip on a 13mm shaft when you've pressed it's the size of a dime. takes a bit of time to shape it where its flat and rock hard but it's worth it because you won't have to shape it again.
