I doubt it. Just spoke with Allen Hopkins today. He told me that they were NOT taking anything out of any $5,000 entrys! All that money will go into the purse! The Qualifiers will have an extra $200 added to the costs/entries so that the pool room operator makes something for running it. Pretty reasonable all around I think.

I would like to help him by putting on a $500 Qualifier in the L.A. area. With 16 players, the winner would get his entry paid into the main event. Second place would get back $2,000 and third place almost $1,000. There could even be smaller Qualifiers for maybe $50 each to win an entry into the second stage Qualifier.

This is actually a better deal for poolplayers than it is for poker players who play in high priced tournaments. In a $5,000 entry fee World Poker Tour event, the house takes about $500 out of every entry fee for their cut. It's huge!
 
Unfortunately we did not get the player response needed to host this qualifier. We are looking to the start of next year for the amount of players needed. I asked Alan to remove our dates for October and December. We are very interested in hosting these but feel we may have begun too soon. Watch for next years dates.
