I don't think this is idle bragging - he's a pretty serious chap.

Chinese 8-Ball is getting everyone excited in the UK, and we have seen a rash of Chinese 8-Ball tables here - is it kicking off in the USA too?
 
Darren Appleton should take him up on it. He is the only other person in America who has won a major event on such a table.
 
p.s. Before you go thinking it's a safe bet because no-one will stump up that kind of money, it's typical here to sell a substantial share of your action with a multitude of backers... The same could apply to any player, but I'm guessing Gareth would be wanting a decent bit of the action for himself.

He should post that challenge in Chinese on the Chinese message boards. He might get that action from some of their best players and their backers.

Earl Strickland needs to hear about this ... he is the best Chinese 8 ball player I know of in the USA ... I think he won a Chinese 8 ball world title one year...

Alex would probably be the best North American to play all around, give him a year. No problem.

Thanks for the vids .. Earl is not what he once was but I wonder how much he plays on those tables. He was not a factor last year as these videos show...

Chinese 8-ball is a bit of a niche game...not widely played.
....one-pocket falls into that same category.

so how about a match 'game-apiece'.....Alex might find the time for that.

Exactly, Daz is the only player out of the mainstream names (chinese players not included) with skills needed to beat Gareth in longer set on chinese pool table. Also I think it is worth mentioning that Gareth is one of the fittest players alive so the race to 100 would be advantage to him. Yes, I am aware how great player Alex is, he can adapt quite well but just adapting is simply not enough against Gareth, not in the long set. So my opinion is that any other player than Daz would stand Snowballs chance in hell facing Gareth in race to 100 on chinese pool table.
