Subject: TS Butt Crack or not?

Hi Tim. I got a TS cue last yr Nov and it seems that the butt has a crack ever since it came out from ur workshop. I always thought it was the grain but some people have pointed out to me that its a crack. Can u verify it?

This is their reply:

Contrary to what all the experts on AZ Billiards say, it is part of the wood grain.
Mike

I have shown them the pictures that I posted here. Unless u guys think that Tim and Mike do not know their stuff, it is just part of the wood grain. Hope this puts all minds to ease.

I think the cue is stunning! I'll send pics of my next cue I get next week and see if we can work something out!!
Thanks

Mike tomorrow. I'll verify that it is him posting. It sounds like something he would say!

Cool. And I dont know why some pple are making a big fuss out of the "dark line". It is not as if I am trying to hide it.

Well, the big fuss is this....being able to sell the cue for $2000+ or having to sell it at a severly reduced price (or possibly not at all).....that is, if that is in fact a crack. Most of the buyers here are thinking of potential resale down the road going into any deal, especially on a cue that is $2k plus.

That's a beautiful cue, and I think your buyer will definitely want a little extra reassurance that it's not a crack or the assurance they can return the cue if not satisfied.

Good luck with your sale.

He is right

I always say satisfaction gaurenteed. Can't spell it but I do it.
There is no crack. But if any buyer thinks there is then what can you do? The buyer is always right. So satisfaction promise at sale is all you can offer.
And it is always a good way to go!
As he says it may be hard to get 2K and he is a big time retailer. But man I just know this cue is a monster!

Nick, just to clarify, that's not really what I'm saying. Just saying that when you're talking anything in that $2k+ price range with something questionable like this, there needs to be assurances. If it's indeed not a crack, then there's no reason this one shouldn't sell close to what he's wanting imo. I'm sure it plays awesome with those woods and the pin !!

It is NOT a crack.

I spoke with Mike in the shop this morning. End of story.

And Nick your cue is very nice! Ready to go. I shot a few racks with it. Sorry about the dings!;) :D J/K it never left the rack and it DOES look nice!
