Mis-identified Zylr on ebay less then 2 hrs

Little Al

I know and have worked with Al for over 10 years. He has never made a cue with a uni lock joint. He also would never put another cue makers butt cap on one of his cues. He does not even like to work one other cue makers cues if people want them changed or fixed. He feels they should send it back to the original cue maker to take care of it. He had made 1000's of shafts for all kinds of cues but I have never seen one that he has made with a uni lock joint. Al is a great player and cue maker. He has alot of respect for Kerry.

Also if you want to get Effern's autograph, he sould be at Hard Times today. He came in on the 31st.

"Little Al" Romero

Little Al’s rep tarnished; what a joke. Anybody that knows Al Romero knows what a great person that he is. Little Al has been around pool his whole life and is respected by everyone I have ever talked to that knows him. Most people who go back far enough to know how great a player he was, also say he is even a greater person.

Precisely why I asked the seller about the buttcap and the logo. His answer to me, which I posted, seems to imply that the butt is not Kerry's work thus I didn't pursue the cue very hard. Anyone who knows cue would be dumb to list the cue as Lil Al when it's Zylr and I don't think the seller is dumb at all (he had another cue, higher end Schon listed for sale).

Did anyone else correspond with the seller?

Jazz,

I do no know if this clears anything up... but I contacted the buyer via ebay and asked him a bout the Zylr logo on a "Litlle Al" s/p....

Zylr cue

Hello,
I am the buyer of the cue. No one has contacted me.:confused: I now have the cue in my hands.:D
It was confirmed by Kerry that it is his cue.:D It was made less than 10 years ago. He has only made approx. 25 or so with a uni-lock joint. He no longer uses this type of joint set up. The joint collar is Micarta (old). The shaft collar is brown linen. Now he uses buckhorn to buckhorn, and autograph has been removed.
It is going to be sent to Kerry to be refinished once his shop is back up & running again (in about a month or so). :)

This is so weird...

Someone said he had a Little Al sneaky for sale, someone else said it was probably a Zylr, then someone else said the shaft was not original, but the butt looked like a Zylr. Then someone else emailed the seller and the seller said the butt was a little AL with a Zylr butt cap installed, a few posters then questioned why Al would do such a thing. Someone else then emailed Zylr, and Zylr confirmed that it was his cue, including the shaft. Someone else then said he contacted the buyer, then the buyer came on here and said he was never contacted, but he is very happy that he won a Zylr cue, for $350.
