My good friend Mike Watterson passed away Friday night, the world of Darts would not be the same today without Mike's contribution, Mike was the founder of the Embassy World Snooker Championship, and it was while the Championship was being played at the Crucible he decided darts should have a World Championship as well, he called me at 1am in the morning, "John do you have 16 professional dart players" I told him there may be five or six, and told him he should contact Olly Croft at the BDO, he did the next day and the Embassy World Darts championship was formed, Mike was an excellent Snooker player himself, we both wrote a column for the Derbyshire Times, Mike Snooker, myself Darts, we would meet up regularly and talk about old times, Mike always had plenty to talk about, he was Chairman of Chesterfield FC, Chairman of Derby County, he had an amazing memory, and would relate to events to the exact day and date, Mike was my nominee for the MBE and no one was more proud than Mike when Her Majesty awarded me the accolade, Mike will be missed by many, Mike is on the right in the photograph with myself and Steve Davis, Mike certainly left his mark on everything he did, he may have gone, but he will never be forgotten. Goodbye my friend.

Not the usual type of of sportsman joining us this week as we’re delighted to welcome the Wizard of Wishaw and 4-time Snooker World Champion, John Higgins to the show!

John is in great form as he recounts some of the best stories from his career at the top level of snooker involving some of the biggest names in the game, combining that with some of his fondest memories following his boyhood team, Celtic over the years.
