Mitch Ellerman

Had a conversation with Mitch a week or so ago and I mentioned this thread and the conversation about his one stroke.

He said that he has tried to slow down and he gets bored when he does. Says he knows what he wants the balls to do and he would just as soon hit the cue ball and get it going than stand there over the ball and practice stroke 2 or 3 times.

Mitch does seem to play well. Who am I to say this, but I wish he would slow down his play a little. He seems to one stroke. I think he could even be better than he already is. That's just my opinion though. He is a better player than I am.

I've known him for over two years and I've never seen him not one stroke every ball. I don't know how he does it, but I enjoy watching him play.

ive seen some good one stroke players in my time, and it always seems they tend to fail when there is a lot on the line, say a big tournament or something.... and the guy one strokes a ball and misses by like a half a diamond. it'll be interesting to see if he can maintain that style towards the end of big tournaments.

Hey mike,

You probably don't remember me but sunday at Alexander's during the all around i asked if you planned on taping (and eventually posting) the finals as well as the one discipline playoff if necessary and you said most likely and was just wondering if that did happen (The taping) and if so when and where will it be posted. Thanks.

I am just out here holding on that that money I won last week from you. I expect to give it back to you very soon.

Thanks for the lightning reply mike.

Hey. Sorry I didn't get to talk to you more this weekend. I'm sure I'll run into your around here some time now that [I think] I'll be playing more tournaments (for now, at least).

Brady...What about Dennis O.? He is the current BCA Masters national champion, and two-time state champ. He is also playing in a ring game this weekend with Mitch, Frost, and some others. :D

It's cool. When i said what's up, afterwards i figured you were just focused on the tourney and what was ahead of you. Strong showing considering the field and your other interests.......

I haven't played in a tournament in Arizona in like 6 months - maybe longer. I can't remember, to be honest. I've just been working and my wife and I had a baby on September 28th. Not to mention, I'm totally hooked on mountain biking now and, with the little spare time I do have, I'm usually out on the one of the hundreds, if not thousands, of trails that we have here. I played like crap the last couple tournaments here in AZ and, with everything else going on in my life, it just took the desire to play right out of me. If I don't have time to actually put into my pool game, I don't even care to show up just to play half-ass. I'd rather go ride my bike. I might not be a top player, but I'd like to at least be able to play what I consider "my game" when I do go out and play.

I haven't seen Mitch play in 6 months or so, but he was playing pretty good when I saw him play back then. He has a huge break and he can make anything he shoots at.
Jimmy, I've been liking biking too! I've spent most of the summer riding trails around my area with my wife and we really enjoy it! It doesn't help the pool game much, but at least you're doing something that you enjoy. Good luck with the baby. There's time for pool later when you're ready. It seems like you have your priorities correct....
