Breaker's Billiard's Annual Bar Table Tournament and Action event went off bigger than ever.

The BigTruck Show did the Livestreaming for it. He had cameras hooked up all over the place so you could sweat the bar table tournament or the gambling action.

There was gambling going on most of the weekend. Dave Peat showed up and put on a show for everyone. I talked to one guy who didn't get in action but they were nut-hunting and he was just a *****ing away. Meantime there were several tables going on with individuals matched up and betting from $20 one pocket to $50K. It was a hell of a weekend.

Me, as usual, I lose my first match, win my next one and then lose my next one. It was double elimination, nine ball, racing to 9. They had a twenty or twenty five dollar green fee which I liked FAR better than digging in my pockets for quarters.

Cyndi Byrd did a fantstic job keeping the crowd happy. He staff worked hard to quench the thirsts of all of the attendees and there were lots of sweaters, gamblers and stake horses. There was an abundance of attractive women at this event and a good time was had by all.

I saw proposition games, tough matches, heists and oh yeah I had one match with CK and he almost snagged a hundred dollar bill out of JoeyA's pocket. It seems that my reputation as being a pooch is starting to take hold. I went cheap in the Calcutta and bought myself. I win one stinking match. I probably should have gone into the "pool", you know, the group of people who don't bid on themselves. Anyway, I don't mind donating a little dough to the Caluttas as well, just as long as I go for only what I am worth, which right now looks like the shrinking American dollar.

I had to leave the $1,000 a man ring game because I wanted to be "fresh" for my Saturday match. I was fresh alright. A lot of good that did me. The next night, Saturday, I go to bed right after I finish my 1:30 am match (which was the only match I won) and come back at noon the next day (Sunday) fresh, and promptly lose that match as well. It's really amazing how poorly I can play. I think when the Gingerbread Man gets wind of how poorly I'm playing, he will be chasing me down to play some thousand dollar sets of one pocket.

There were SO MANY BIG NAMES at this tournament I can't begin to name them all. I'm going to hit a few but you can't imagine how many big name players come to this event. I guess it's the fact that you can gamble on the big tables while the bar table event is going on that attracts them. Dippy Dave being there didn't hurt.....

CJ Wiley, Jeremy Jones, Chip Compton, Joey Gray, Mark Cavalier, Josh Roberts, James Roberts, JayBird, Andy somebody, Mystery Mike, Justin Cone, Justin Hall, Ronnie Wiseman, Crhis Bartram, Joey Barnes, Danny Smith, Cliff Joyner, Casey the Fireman and 40 other top players; just too many to list them all, besides I'm kind of hungover from a lack of sleep for the weekend but all in all, it was a good time.

Also saw many AZBers who introduced themselves and said hi. It's always great to put a face with these screen names.

Airport Blvd, which is where Breaker's Billiards is located has MORE good, franchise restaurants in one area than ANY OTHER city I have ever been in. It's unreal.

Thanks for the update, JoeyA.

There was no news of this tournament anywhere on the Internet, which I'm not sure why. I would think tournament peeps would want to promote events and at least let the pool public know what's happening.

I guess AzBilliards can't report the results on the Main Page if nobody submits it to them. Some people don't read this forum and look there for results.

It sounds like Breakers put on a good show for all in attendance.

Do you know who won the ring game?

Thanks for the trip report, Joey.

So... it sounds like you didn't get outplayed, but that you didn't play your game (which, as we all know is pretty good). So what exactly would you attribute the 1-2 on?

Lou Figueroa

Sounds like a kick-a$$ed time...wish I could have been there.

But at least I got to play in the Planet Pool tournament...:)

Sounds like the action was heavenly.

I attribute my poor play primarily to a lack of talent. I was not worth the twenty five dollars that I went for in the Calcutta. Chris Miller, ARE YOU LISTENING?

Apparently, I am a masochist, and love getting beat on by the young and old. I really regret not having a chance to be beat on by the wimmin. :frown:

Big D

Jeremy Jones came in third.
Richie Richeson came in Second.

And the guy known as little D showed up and took first place.

Honorable mention has to go to the Buffalo Billiards crew who sized up Little D's game all week and bought him in the Second Calcutta and made some good dough on their investment.

I've heard that the final shots of the event were something to behold which you can see by clicking here.

Jenny,
With so much information coming in these days, it's hard to digest it all but AZ Billiards bellied up to the table and provided the advanced coverage of this event but I guess we just didn't talk about it enough. You can see the link

Hey Joey,

Great report. Great listening to you in the booth with Big Truck.

Correction to your report...

Jeremy Jones took 4th place
James Roberts took 3rd place

Cheers,
Mark

We heard that they're still rocking and rolling in Mobile, even though the tournament has concluded. :D

Joey, you'd be a great writer for event coverage in Beautiful Dixie. You should submit your writings to AzBilliards, so that a record is created and archived. Be sure to include dates. Sometimes people do not include dates. This is important. Dates and places. Pictures would be nice, too, but I guess we can't have everything.

I'm serious, though. You would complement the other pool news on the Main Page with your news coverage. Sometimes you're right in the thick of it!

Thanks for the nice compliments on the writing, although I know sometimes it looks like my writing is a first draft, which it almost always is.

These days, I try to help out the streamers with commentary for a couple of matches, play in the tournament and get in a little action. With all of that going on, I don't know if I can carry the load of writing articles on the events, Jenny. (Now if my expenses were getting paid for these events, you might have to call me Joey Twain. :D)

So what's the scoop on this "Little D" kid? I watched a couple of matches and he looked really good and seemed to have his opponents intimidated out of their games. I don't think I've ever heard of him before and to come through that field, very impressive.

He's from my home town of Hattiesburg, MS. Cut his teeth playing Little John Macias and some of the other good players from the area. He has been on the road a few times with Little John. This is certainly the biggest win of his career as far as I know. He beat most folks convincingly during the tournament. Hat's off to him!
