Breaker's Billiard's Annual Bar Table Tournament and Action event went off bigger than ever.
The BigTruck Show did the Livestreaming for it. He had cameras hooked up all over the place so you could sweat the bar table tournament or the gambling action.
There was gambling going on most of the weekend. Dave Peat showed up and put on a show for everyone. I talked to one guy who didn't get in action but they were nut-hunting and he was just a *****ing away. Meantime there were several tables going on with individuals matched up and betting from $20 one pocket to $50K. It was a hell of a weekend.
Me, as usual, I lose my first match, win my next one and then lose my next one. It was double elimination, nine ball, racing to 9. They had a twenty or twenty five dollar green fee which I liked FAR better than digging in my pockets for quarters.
Cyndi Byrd did a fantstic job keeping the crowd happy. He staff worked hard to quench the thirsts of all of the attendees and there were lots of sweaters, gamblers and stake horses. There was an abundance of attractive women at this event and a good time was had by all.
I saw proposition games, tough matches, heists and oh yeah I had one match with CK and he almost snagged a hundred dollar bill out of JoeyA's pocket. It seems that my reputation as being a pooch is starting to take hold. I went cheap in the Calcutta and bought myself. I win one stinking match. I probably should have gone into the "pool", you know, the group of people who don't bid on themselves. Anyway, I don't mind donating a little dough to the Caluttas as well, just as long as I go for only what I am worth, which right now looks like the shrinking American dollar.
I had to leave the $1,000 a man ring game because I wanted to be "fresh" for my Saturday match. I was fresh alright. A lot of good that did me. The next night, Saturday, I go to bed right after I finish my 1:30 am match (which was the only match I won) and come back at noon the next day (Sunday) fresh, and promptly lose that match as well. It's really amazing how poorly I can play. I think when the Gingerbread Man gets wind of how poorly I'm playing, he will be chasing me down to play some thousand dollar sets of one pocket.
There were SO MANY BIG NAMES at this tournament I can't begin to name them all. I'm going to hit a few but you can't imagine how many big name players come to this event. I guess it's the fact that you can gamble on the big tables while the bar table event is going on that attracts them. Dippy Dave being there didn't hurt.....
CJ Wiley, Jeremy Jones, Chip Compton, Joey Gray, Mark Cavalier, Josh Roberts, James Roberts, JayBird, Andy somebody, Mystery Mike, Justin Cone, Justin Hall, Ronnie Wiseman, Crhis Bartram, Joey Barnes, Danny Smith, Cliff Joyner, Casey the Fireman and 40 other top players; just too many to list them all, besides I'm kind of hungover from a lack of sleep for the weekend but all in all, it was a good time.
Also saw many AZBers who introduced themselves and said hi. It's always great to put a face with these screen names.
Airport Blvd, which is where Breaker's Billiards is located has MORE good, franchise restaurants in one area than ANY OTHER city I have ever been in. It's unreal.
