pool whiz said:Efren?....No, not yet....Yang caught Dennis off-form. It happens to any pros......why don't he try his mettle first on the other 'kids on the block' i.e Ronnie, Alex, Vanvan Corteza, Gaga Gabica, Gandy Valle, Jharome Pena and others....besides, the debacle of one doesn't mean you have defeated the rest of the group, right?

I think that Yangs has already beaten all the others. I believe that Dennis was the final straw. I thought that him match up with Dennis was going to crown the best money player in the world. Now people are saying that he is not ready to play Efren???
tfdr said:reyes is the undisputed money tournament king..what he does when there is six figure on the line is phenomenal...nobody at this time have duplicated .
Hohmann almost dethroned it but when the stakes got higher ,500000 reyes never allowed it to happen..
Reyes has not lost in any one-on one duel
be against it boy bicol, parica, Strickland, Bustamante and Archer when he was in the philippines.
I guess he faces challenge matches as well as when he smells six figure in any tournament..

pool whiz said:I like to sum it up as pitting Manny Pacquiao against the alleged knockout king from Latin America who fights via Macau and boasts of 20 knockouts....Manny himself said the guy has beaten 20 tricycle drivers!....c'mon, let's be realistic here...Efren and Manny hasn't been there this long for nothing, right?
lol

Consistent victories over him are more of a statement proving one's supremacy does. Though I agree that at present, Dennis have Efren's numbers. but when both men are at their top of their game, Dennis would easily be eaten up by Efren. There are only two men that I knew that can defeat Efren when he's in top form. One is Amang, and the other one is I believed to be dead. that dead guy could had become as popular as Efren in the international circuit. however, we are happy enough to know that atleast, we have Efren.

However, I hardly think one match up against Orcollo hardly determines who's the best.
Pool is about long term consistency, not one set (even if it is to 60 over 3 days.)
Let them have a best of 3 over a period of time (although it would probably take best of 7 to be truly definitive) and at different locations (each one a home match and then if it comes to the third set, have it on neutral ground.)
Also, you really would need to throw in a few other top gamblers/players from around the world for a round robin type of match up...some times certain people just have your number even when they don't normally play your speed.
Granted this would probably take a long time to play out, but you would definitely get a pretty definitive answer for the current 9-ball gambling king.
