:) Efren?....No, not yet....Yang caught Dennis off-form. It happens to any pros......why don't he try his mettle first on the other 'kids on the block' i.e Ronnie, Alex, Vanvan Corteza, Gaga Gabica, Gandy Valle, Jharome Pena and others....besides, the debacle of one doesn't mean you have defeated the rest of the group, right? :)

You might want to lower the bet a little, since, I believe, that Yang beat Efren last time they gambled. I don't think that Efren wants to play Dennis in 9 or 10-ball, so what makes you want to bet everything on him. I have confidence in Efren, but it is in no way a great game either way.

I think that Yang has already beaten all the others. I believe that Dennis was the final straw. I thought that the match up with Dennis was going to crown the best money player in the world. Now people are saying that he is not ready to play Efren???

reyes is the undisputed money tournament king..what he does when there is six figure on the line is phenomenal...nobody at this time have duplicated .
Hohmann almost dethroned it but when the stakes got higher ,500000 reyes never allowed it to happen..

Reyes has not lost in any one-on one duel
be against it boy bicol, parica, Strickland, Bustamante and Archer when he was in the philippines.

I guess he faces challenge matches as well as when he smells six figure in any tournament..

I do agree. However, I thought that he has lost to Dennis and Alcano before. I could be wrong, but that is what I heard. Or did you mean that he hasn't lost in a taped challenge match, like the Color of Money?

:) I like to sum it up as pitting Manny Pacquiao against the alleged knockout king from Latin America who fights via Macau and boasts of 20 knockouts....Manny himself said the guy has beaten 20 tricycle drivers!....c'mon, let's be realistic here...Efren and Manny hasn't been there this long for nothing, right? :) lol

So, Dennis and Alcano are tricycle drivers? Efren, himself, said that he would gamble against anyone in the world still, except Dennis. I thought that they matched Dennis and Yang up, because they were considered the two best money plays right now.

Some enlightment regarding this matter. defeating Efren on occasion doesn't prove one's supremacy over the guy. Consistent victories over him are more of a statement proving one's supremacy does. Though I agree that at present, Dennis have Efren's numbers. but when both men are at their top of their game, Dennis would easily be eaten up by Efren. There are only two men that I knew that can defeat Efren when he's in top form. One is Amang, and the other one is I believed to be dead. that dead guy could had become as popular as Efren in the international circuit. however, we are happy enough to know that atleast, we have Efren.

Boy Bicol? Or Eric Lagui??? RIP...

i have said for over 20 years Efren was the best-before the internet, I had alot of people disagree with me years ago, but if he plays like he did in the Normandy casino tournment a month ago-who ever he plays will have the best of it, Efren needs to get it in gear. Right now I wouldnt bet on him. Sentemental favorites are a quick way to go bust.

FYI, Yang has conquered them all.
That's why even the proud Pinoys declare him "Money Game King"!

single match in pool?!

I'm not saying that Yang isn't a great player or even that it's not possible that he very well is the "Greatest Money Player in the World!"

However, I hardly think one match up against Orcollo hardly determines who's the best.

Pool is about long term consistency, not one set (even if it is to 60 over 3 days.)

Let them have a best of 3 over a period of time (although it would probably take best of 7 to be truly definitive) and at different locations (each one a home match and then if it comes to the third set, have it on neutral ground.)

Also, you really would need to throw in a few other top gamblers/players from around the world for a round robin type of match up...some times certain people just have your number even when they don't normally play your speed.

Granted this would probably take a long time to play out, but you would definitely get a pretty definitive answer for the current 9-ball gambling king.

I understand your point, but there are several things that have to be taken into account. One of the factors that makes a player truly great is his/her ability to "show up" in a clutch situation.

The difference btween Orcullo and Yang is that when the pressure was on and the money and title were at stake, he showed up. Orcullo lagged behind.

As well, Yang has repeatedly proven himself by beating all of the Philipino big guns. I have to respectfully disagree. It seems that he has definitely earned the title of "best money player in the world". Its not this one event that proves this but his track record for repeated success as well as his ability to step it up when the situation requires it.

sometimes all you need is one and only one contest, period, that simple

like when the Colts beat the Bears, no doubt there who the better team was, or when Tyson was smashing guys in the ring during his prime

obviously in pool, years of big wins over the best is the standard by which the best are measured but I say again, from time to time, on some rare occassions you just need one long, fair match

I don't see why everyone is finding this Yang win so tough to swallow
