has anyone had monovision lasik eye surgery. if so how did affect your game.

no lasik surgery(i'm near sighted.
Ten yrs. ago-maybe 15 . when the Famous Steve (the Miz) was around. Touring, He told me he yrs. getting used to Mono vision-(one eye only) but he did it with contacts. He said it took couple yrs to get used to it. One eye was for the close shots and the other eye was for distant shots. I have friends that are pilots . their (eye doctors) when they get surgery I will (not until they do)- they have told me another 10 yrs or so, and the newest tech, will be available to the public- I will where contacts till then! good luck mark

I had lasik surgery done about 3 - 4 years ago.
I went from 200-20 to 13 -20, this is considerable. Normal vision is considered 20 - 20, and I am better than that.
Improvements in my game? I immediately improved a ball, in nine ball.
My pushout shot that I leave is table length, thin, thin cut. Most walk away and I shoot it better than almost anyone. Its nice to have a shot that I can hit consistently that most will walk away from....

I appreciate your opinion, but after the last 3 years of life I have had great vision. IMO, life is too short to wait. If you can do it comfortably financially, I would recommend it asap. In ten years, we might not be here.

I had lasik done to just one eye. It has been over 5 years now. I must say it was the best choice I ever made. :yes: I wore glasses since I was in the 6th grade. Now I function fully well without them. I read with my right eye and see distance and play pool with my left eye.
I persume that I already was a left eye dominant pool player since I did not seem to have much of an adjustment period.
For that matter the very night I had the surgery my game was improved.
The hardest part was getting pushing up my glasses that were not there out of my pre-shot routine.:joyful:

I went to get Lasik done about two weeks ago and was told I am not a candidate because my cornea is too thin. This would cause me to be at risk for cataracts later in life if they did the surgery. I was disappointed. I cannot read the big 'E' on the eye chart without my contacts.

I did a lot of research before proceeding. It is just as effective as lasik. The only downside is that the recovery time is longer. It is an option for people with thin corneas because it the procedure is done on the outside of the cornea (i.e., there is no flap cut like lasik).
Until recently, it was the only laser surgery approved by the military. I'm sure that others are better informed on this than me, but I believed that lasik is now approved too. My understanding is that there are a lot of pilots who have had PRK surgery.
