I was talking to Greg Sullivan recently and it is a go for this year's NEW TOURNAMENT OF THE YEAR.

This one will feature 4- 5 x 10tables • a score or two of 4 1/2 x 9's • few score of Diamond Bar Tables. (Well over a hundred pool tables.)

This event will be held at the casino in Tunica, Mississippi.

There will be lots of added money for this event. More and better details to come.
 
I was going to try and go to the Derby this year but it's so far but now that they are going to do something down south I will be going to that instead. Hope to see some one pocket on those 5x10s

Is this close to you Joey? Really looking forward to this event on the 10fts. gonna make sue i can play in this :smile:
 
Very cool. The first pro tournament that I ever attended was there in around 92 at Fitzgerald's Casino. I remember that I was under age but they still let me go into the tournament room.

do you know which casino yet ?

i wiil be there for sure, only live about 45 minutes away.
 
This would be cool I have no idea if it is on or not. Greg makes alot of things happen so lets hope it is a go.
 
I say lets 'better it' - the Tunica event - before it begins...

1) 10 Ball races to 11 and 9 (real 10 Ball- call pocket, win on the snap above the bottom 2 pockets) ... instead of 9 ball- what a joke, pool really needs to progress

2) 11 Ball Banks win @ 6 balls (no soft breaks- 2 balls above the head string) - races to 4 and 3.

3) One hole is good as is.


I understand there will also be some 10 footer there as well... SWEET!

Tunica HorseShoe Casino Hotel Prices are really reasonable especially if you hold a FREE hotel players card ...hint hint.. get one before the event ... you may get a couple of nights free to boot..

Hope that will not clash with Calgery Stampede. Calgery ( CANADA ) stampede may be the only high class rodeo that includes Chuck wagon Race. I am a big fan of chuck wagon race besides Bull riding.:cool:
 
I did some quick checking and the best I saw was $70 per night, but I could only book for a week?......but it looks promising compared to the DCC costs!

Information

Man the sooner they can get out the details the better this will be. Under 6 months is not very far away. I think it was waiting till the last minute that really hurt the event in Galveston. I hope this to be as good if not better than Derby, but its all in the details. I would love for this to be all it can be for the promoters and the players in this event.

I'm with you on this Frank. I may call Greg today to push him to provide a date for the details. You're right. Time is running short.
