just curious how long your moori med tips last. i seen to have to have my shaft re-tipped every 5 months or so. i keep it at a dime radius and reshape it whenever i can see any light between it and the gauge on the side of a willard shaper. i do this to keep it playing consistantly the same all the time. it just seems that i should be able to at least get a year out of them.

I guess it would depend on how many hours of play you have on it, and how often and how much you use the Willards on it. To me, 5 months is pretty good. I put on a new tip every 2-3 months, but I play 4-5 times a week, 3-6 hours each time. I use Moori-Q's. :p

well i guess im not alone then. i wouldnt mind so much but i done know of anyone in my local area that is any good at retipping so i end up sending it out.

I used to play with a Moori Medium too. I play 15-20 hours a week. I also have to replace them around 5 months time.

well im sure there is, but i just dont know who. i had a couple tips put on by a local guy on a couple cues i have in my house for other people to use. 1 fell off in about a month (and rarely used). i had a moori put on by a different guy, its holding up so far, but when he did it, he did an awful job of trimming the sides. i had to do it myself which i hate doing....once in a while i catch the edge of the ferule and knick it up.
im in south jersey (cherry hill area) if anyone knows of someone close, id appreciate it.

I only use a shaper occasionally. Use a tip-pick on a daily basis and they will last a long time. Going on 6 months and about a 1/3rd left. Don

Five or six months would be a VERY short time for me. Even back before layered tips came on the scene, it was rare for me to change tips in less than a year, providing I got a good one. I've always used two shafts, though, and alternated them, using one on odd days and the other on even days. And, I played every day, several hours per day. I've had Moori mediums on my Dishaw for about a year, I think. I suppose this might be normal if you only use one shaft, but with a layered tip, especially, I would think it would last longer than five or six months.
