moori tip height

i just got in a bunch of moori tips....has anyone who bought moori's recently noticed the medium tips are thinner? they seem to have a fewer number of layers and the overall tip is thinner than the soft and hard moori's. the previous moori mediums I had were thicker, the same as the soft and hards. not sure why they are thinner now. when you install them, they install a little thin for my taste...some customers may be wondering now if i'm trying to rip them off by shaving down their tip prematurely!

The height of the tip should be governed by the width. If you have too tall of a tip & you hit a hard shot off center, you could pop the tip right off. I use a formula of the height being about 35% of the width. So a 13 mm (.512") would have a height of about .185". A 12 mm (.472) tip would have a height of .165".

Japan use to lead the pack when it came to layered tips, They are not what they use to be. To bad too, Moori's, use to be the best tip available, not any more. Of course this is strictly my opinion. Moori is still the only tip from Japan I stock but not like I use too.

Hi McChen,

Atlas was back ordered on Moori Meds for awhile because of the Japan disaster. I just got a load in and they were the same as the Quick tips in size as usual.

Where did you get those tips from. I have seen some Mojo Mooris that a customer bought on the internet. The seal on the pack had the printing of Moorie obscured and when I looked real close the printing on the tip was smeared. I don't remember them being shorter.

i got mine from atlas, so i know they are genuine.

i counted the layers on them, and there are only 8. the slow and quicks have 9. i guess missing one layer normally wouldn't be much, but these layers are thinner as well. i'd say the tips are about 75% the height of a "normal" one.
