I agree Jimmy M. I think that the moori "bad rep" I hear from time to time is some pretty good marketing from certain competitors. I see ZERO difference in the quality, durability and resistence to mushrooming in the moori mediums I use now vs. years ago.

Properly chalked and stroked...they don't miscue.

Jim

Moori

I do tip replacements for myself and friends fairly often. I bought 5 Talisman tips to try out and every one of them de-laminated on me. I contacted Talisman and he said possibly it was just a bad batch and that he would send my replacement tips. Which I never recieved. Bad tips + bad customer service = loss of a customer. I've always had consistant good results from Moori I, II, III's but they get pricey at times. Very minimal shaping required. Although Triangle tips are too hard for my preference I have a friend that likes them. They seem to be pretty consistant in quality. I'd be interested in knowing what size ball bearing you use to press them with. How long and how much pound/pressure you use. I'd imagine you would want to be consistant with this for the same results. ~Thanks

It Still Amazes Me

LOL, on days with bad weather, simply sign on to AZB to fish. Cast your line 1,000 times and you're GUARANTEED to get a bite on EVERY cast....

I've tried moori's twice now, and the tips start out good, but turn to shyt once I scuff them up.

After the initial scuffing when the tip is first put on, the tip holds chalk well, and plays great. But needs tip pik'n often.

with 3 of the tips, anytime I've scuffed the tip up with my It's George, the tip will not hold chalk. I've tried all the tricks, and still it wont hold chalk.

now, after the last time of this happening, I went with SNIPER's and the tip was AMAZING!!!!! Never had a problem with the tip glazing over to mushrooming. The moori didnt mushroom either, but it would glaze over after a couple of games.

But the Sniper tip was awesome!!!

Right now I am using Tiger Soft's and havent had problem one, with the tip.

all my life i kept hearing the same thing over and over. moori makes the best tip. a few years back, in a quest for the greatest tip, i tried moori medium hard. when first put on, they were by far the greatest tip i ever experienced. like a hard sponge, perfect in every way! however, after a week, the tip became like a demon out of a dean koontz novel! miscueing like crazy wearing out unevenly and feeling like shit. i eventually tried moori quick, and morri medium, they both sucked. i have come to the conclusion laminated tips suck! i still like the le professional and triangle the best. triangle has thee best miscue rate. 0%! try that with a moori!!

I think you may have gotten a hold of some fakes.... Every Morri I have had played great and lasted forever.... No uneven ware at all...
I actually like Snipers best, but they have gone way up in price over the last 2 years....

The Moori medium tips are one of, if not the, best tips I've played with. Every Moori tip I've had put on hits just like the last one I had (I'm trying to say they're consistent), and they hold chalk, as well as their shape, as good, if not better, than any other tip out there. Now, about the price ...

My sentiments exactly!!!!!

Russ.

Also, The tip must be installed correctly. I had one installed a while back and the job was less than perfect. It started to deform right away.

Russ.....

That is very interesting about tip pressing. Need to find out:
how big the ball bearing is?
Is the ball bearing on the top of tip or bottom?
How long do you keep it pressed?

I've been using Tiger Everest tips and love them. Recently bought a cue with Triangle tips and they feel too hard.

Wtf

I encounter almost the same problem. Someone installed a moori m on my cue. It hold chalk very well. After a few games, the tip looks indeed glazy and didn't hold chalk well anymore. Tip pik doesn't work well on moori. The best thing to do is, use a sandpaper with 200 grid. Put in on the tip and roll the shaft. The tip will look like new and chalk well again. But like I said, after a few games, it start again. Snipers don't have this problem. Just clean your sniper with water, and it will chalk every time very well. Tip pik also do. But I just don't like the hit of the snipers. The hit of mooris are just better to me. Sniper just last longer than mooris.

Yep, I was...and am sitting down. I wasn't replying TO Jimmy M but ABOUT what he posted...which is still in the thread. I don't see what diff it makes how old his post was. The point was...and is...that NOW I agree with his view...regardless of when it was posted.

I also agree with many views held by...oh...Abe Lincoln for one.
