Morakami tips question

No there is no deeper story here, I honestly just think they are garbage tips, Plain and simple, I know people like them and use them and that's fine, There just not for me, I don't stock tips I would not use myself, and that's all there is to it, God bless the people that like them there just not for me, To be perfectly honest I don't like Kamui's eather, I installed one on my cue a few years ago played with it for an hour cut it off and installed a first Generation Moori, I would not stock anything I would not use myself, That's all.....

So where do you get first generation Mooris?

Sooo.......you only stock the one tip you like? as there are dozens of tips that customers may like and you don't, so that would mean you won't carry ANY tip you won't shoot with and the customer needs to find another installer? If so, not a problem, it's your choice, BUT, but considering all you have done in this thread is to condemn and trash only one brand of tips, not the other dozens you won't shoot with, and considering this brand wasn't even in the OP's question....leads one to believe you had an axe to grind. It's very hard to think otherwise. Just because one doesn't like the tip, doesn't give one the right to call another member's product "garbage".....re-read the rules buddy....

whats wrong with only selling products you believe in? i can agree with that. if i don't liek a certian tips like a kamui, i won't stock it either. i dont stock kamui but i do stock morakami becaue i like morakami and so i stock and recommend them. hey different strokes for different folks. lets not criticize some one for how they do business or what they believe.

I think I have some here you can have for free. I've never used any of them, nor recommended them. I have absolutely no opinion of the tips at all. I just don't like the guy selling them.

Don't some, or alot, of the tips on the Morakami website look alot like other tips...including the packaging?

Why would someone go to that "extreme" to sell tips?

Could you post some detailed pictures for a picture by picture comparison with real Kamui tips?
Or PM me and I`ll do it for the ones who wants to know. I have a EOS 5D MKII with a great macro lens, and I have installed lot`s of Kamuis, so I think I would be able to detail the differences.

Seems relevant:

Joe Dirt: So you're gonna tell me that you don't have no black cats, roman candles, or screaming mimis?
Kicking Wing: No.
Joe Dirt: Oh come on, man. You don't got no lady fingers, fuzz buttles, snicker bombs, church burners, finger blasters, gut busters, zippity do das, or crap flappers?
Kicking Wing: No, I don't.
Joe Dirt: You're gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistling bungholes, no spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hüsker düs, hüsker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistling kitty chaser?
Kicking Wing: No... because snakes and sparklers are the only ones I like.
Joe Dirt: Well that might be your problem. It's not what you like, it's the consumer.

Maybe later today.

You have the 100L Macro? My friend has that and loves it. I sold most of my kit, but kept the 24-70, 70-200, and my 1 series bodies. At one time, I owned most of the L's, including the 200 1.8, 300 and 400 2.8 IS's, 85, 35, 135. I miss the 400 and the 135 the most..

Still have the Elinchroms and wizards tho. Local newspaper guys used to borrow my lights when I'd shoot basketball. For the most part, it's all going to waste...

Absolutely nothing, but if you are going to criticize a product I believe you should offer some supporting evidence.

I stopped carrying Mooris and gave the 9 I had away. Also posted pictures of how I was able to peel the layers apart. THAT is why I don't carry them. I don't carry anything from Barringer because I don't like(he hurt my feelings:wave3:) him very much. I'd post why, but I'll be happy if I never hear from him again..so I won't.

Yep 100L macro, great lens.Takes really detailed macro pictures :)
I`m trying to use the camera to document cue making and repairs, in the hope of making a website showing my stuff :)

I do not stock Morakami tips but have installed a few. They seem to be pretty good.

I stock tips that people want and request, which has nothing to do with my personal feelings about the tip or the tip maker. I give my honest opinions and players believe in me.

Can I ask what tips you stock?

Its a pretty long list. When I look at my spreadsheet, there are well over 100. Now, that includes each hardness of each brand. I probably stock more than most but I have a very diverse customer base.

Thats good to hear, I got the impression that I was about the only one stocking alot of tips.
I stock everything from:
- Kamui (16)
- G2 (3)
- Zan (6)
- Moori (6)
- Tiger (6)
- Super Pro
- Mezz Sonic and Black Ingot
- Taom
- White Diamond
- Samsara
- Odega
- Elkmaster, Le Pro, Triangle, Water Buffalo
So not quite as much as you, but around 50 tips
And If customers wants something else I'll get that too.

Isn't that almost funny Randy. Just last week a Friend and player came over for a couple of tips. I sold him a Predator cue and HXT Shaft so told him he could have any tip that he wanted on his own Pred Shaft.

He wanted a Moori. As soon as I touched it with the razor blade, the tip came off and left the bottom layer. I chalked it up to one bad tip in the bunch.

Tried another, same dealio. Just the bottom layers on those 2. Still installable but I don't want the rest of them to separate so not much use to me.

Have approx 12 left so guess I will Air Mail them to the can the next time that I am down stairs.

And these particular ones didn't come from Joe. I can't remember where, but I know that they weren't from him. And pretty sure that these wouldn't have been Knock Offs as they were purchased long before all the Bull Shite started with them.

I checked the knock off pictures against the ones that I have, (Packaging and Holograms etc), and close as I can figure, mine were the real deal anyway. So, a bit of a head scratcher on that one.

I installed a couple of Mooris last League Season and they were ok. My shop stays an even 50 degrees all year. The Mooris are packaged in the Pill Packs and I keep them in the supposed air tight containers. So really should be no reason for this at this time.

I have obviously had the odd bad tip in a bunch but nothing like this. I mean, just because you do get them from a reputable dealer doesn't mean that they weren't Hood Winked on the tips either.

i would like to weigh in also. i ordered 5 clear tips and selected 2 day priority mail.
i did not receive my tips until 9 working days later. i took them to a well know pool shop in my area and the guy had to re-glue all three leather pads to the clear plate. i do not think i will be buying from them again.

tips

I like Morakami tips a lot. The ones that I have installed cut well, and performance was superb. I think it is a high quality product. I am very disappointed with Kamui tips though. They are too hard from the start - and get harder from there. I have found that Kamikaze tips are a great substitute for the Kamui. They perform like the Kamui tips that I was getting 3 years ago. Back to Morakami tips. I love them. I don't however, like to install ANY type of tip on Pechauer cues! I don't know what the ferrules are made of but it is a bear to get tips to stay on them....

I will make this so simple a child can understand what I'm saying, I said I would not stock any tip I would not use myself. Most people would realize that that means I would use what I stock not just one tip. Does this help you ?????????????
