ok i got my first 60" cue a couple weeks ago and i like it except its a little heavier than what i shoot and the hit isnt quite what im used to (schon). Ok so I was thinking about getting a 60" schon built, but per their website they only make a standard butt, if you need more length they go to 32" on the shafts. So has anoyone played with a setup like that? Ive always heard its better to go 30" butt 30" shaft. I really love the schon hit but Im guessing a 32" shaft is going to have a hell of a taper to keep from being whippy, plus its gonna be a pain to find a case it will fit in. Any input?

I've played with a 60" cue that had a standard 28" butt it was all in the shaft. I swear I couldn't get used to it because when you are down on the shot and stroking, you can't see the joint, just nothing but shaft... Not a major thing, but it irritated the crap out of me!

The other downside to that is finding a case that will house a 32" shaft w/ jp's.

I have a long Viking cue, accomplished with lengthening the shafts and had a Talisman case custom built to put it in, however it is huge! I think InStroke makes extra length in their cases as well. Silver Fox cases fit too, but it's a soft case.

I like a longer cue, altho my husband thinks I should shorten it up. I should switch to a shorter one on certain shots, but I like the longer reach, because I am as short as my cue!

Yes ....

The Action Elite Eln35 3 x 5 case can hold them just
fine, even with JP's on them. Just 2-3 days ago on another
case thead (by Ryeth), I posted a picture of the shaft portion
on the inside of the case so he could see how much room above
the shafts that there is, which is about 6-7" BTW. Look up that
thread and you can see it for yourself. I also posted 3 websites
where this case is sold. I like mine very much, and bought mine
from Pooldawg.com for 79,20 with free shipping. Spring loaded butts,
tubes for butts/shafts, go in either way, real good handle, very
good wide shoulder strap, side zipper for jump butt in long pocket.
Not heavy, slimline soft/hard case. Only complaint would be that
the little pocket could be about an 1" taller.

I searched forever for a case for my Schick. I ended up getting a Super McDermott Tube case. The cue fits fine, but you can't put a JP on the butt pin. It presses against the 1/2 foam in the top of the case and goes down really tight. The nice thing about the case is it was cheap and looks fantastic. It really seals well and protects the cue from the elements.

As for a playing case, I would maybe call Joe Porper and ask him. Most of his cases will hold a 60 inch cue.
