I went looking for the price on Aramith Tournament "Black" balls, with the black caps. Here you go:

I bought the 25 dollar set a couple years back. Plastic but the weighed within reg tolerances and were round enough to play <all> the pool. Traded them to a bar for a beat up set of Super Aramiths from whenever they were made.

Technically those are not 'counterfeit' balls just cheap copies. If they were CF the box/ all logos/etc would all be exactly like orig. Aramith. They aren't. BTW, they offer these in phenolic as well for around 200bux. wouldn't buy them either.

At this price per set, I'm guessing it's polyester resin not phenolic. Curious who could be OEM for these.

they offer both. i wouldn't buy either.
Other than XinBing (Dynasphere, Cyclop) and Saluc of Belgium, who else? So, I'm skeptical when someone casually mentions counterfeit phenolic, as picturing something you can whip up in a backyard shop in Taishan. Until XinBing entered the market, Saluc was the sole producer of phenolic resin balls. It's very niche.

Not familiar with DongZhou Feima, so I would like to know how they fit in (marketing, exporter)

But they can become counterfeit when someone who has bought Aramith Black balls puts the Dongzhou Feima balls into the box and sells them for $250 as a slightly used set. That happened to a local room. Beyond that, I hope that Aramith has design patents on both the black caps and the broken-circle eye design. That would make the balls counterfeit without lying packaging.

The ad says resin. I wonder what they actually are.

If you go look at Temu/Alibaba balls you'll see there are some phenolic balls. No clue about the actual factories. I wouldn't worry about it, just stick to A'mith and Dyna.
