More harm than help?

Hit balls

I mentioned to friend that I warmed up at my home table for a while before coming out to the pool room for league night. He said it's not helpful to play a different table right before a league match. What do you think, more harm than help?

Anytime you hit balls is good. More balls more good. Going from bigger tables usually makes bar boxes seem like a duck shoot. However they usually roller straighter and faster than bar boxes so adjustments will be needed.

As people have said, I would avoid trying to practice speed and position on a different table. I play on super slow school tables and then go to the local hall that has brand new 860 and my speed is awful. If you want to practice before hand, I suggest just hitting balls and getting in stroke. Work on basic shots, practicing cuts just to warm up your arm. Problem with leagues is that you sit for a while anyway so you usually end up cold by the time you play.

Tell your friend that you want to end your friendship with him because he lies too much.

I don't want to limit what table I have to play on...

I want to be good enough to walk up to any size table anytime anywhere and start playing without a need to warm up on it more than just rolling the cue ball around the table with my hand a couple times.

Besides that....there are too many other things to worry about in this game:wink:
