I just picked up this cue and can't find much about it other than it is a form of McDermott made in the late '90s. Cue is in great shape and I'd like to know some more about this line.

Thanks for the help.

Evan

This is one of their first line of Genuine pool cues. They were made in the late 90s thru early 00s. They were made at McDermott here in the US. They originally sold from 99 dollars and up. Nice inexpensive entry level cue.

They had another line of Genuine cues later that were mostly sold out of Dick Sporting Goods stores. The second line had the famous McDermott clover above the word Genuine.

I believe my first cue was a wrapless version of the same cue made in the early 90s that sold for around $90. Yours might be the E-A2 where mine might have been the E-A1 here: http://bluebookofpoolcuevalues.com/...id=MCDERMOTT_CUE_MANUFACTURING_INC_E_A_SERIES.

Definitely not E line.

The "Genuine" cues were another line, later I believe.

I believe these were imports, before their "Star" line. Although McDermott now admits they have an import line, at first they did not. I believe the Genuine cues were imports. I believe the US made cues have the McDermott logo on the buttcap. Could be wrong....

Looks like an EA 2 to me also......Many moons ago they got a ton of mahogany and used it mainly for handle wood when the main cue was really heavy......Having a mountain of wood lead to .....lets make some cues with it.......which led to really light butts...which led to 3/4 in weight bolts just to get the things close to 19 oz.
