More Snooker cushion help please!!

Did the dismantle of a 9' Brunswick Heirloom snooker table today and below are pictures (as best I could get) of the cushions. They are actually one piece and flat nosed. I've personally never seen them before. Unfortunately, all of them still have life with the exception of one end rail which is dead as dead can be. Anyone ever seen these or know where I can pick up a set. Are they a Brunswick proprietary product? I've got about 10 days to two weeks to resolve this delimna. Thanks for any help and responses!!

Imperial can sell you a set I think cheap, or the best Northern direct from England in one day fed ex, thats std rubber profile for snooker. Make a template of the bends before removing on other end in case the dead side shrunk, mount new cushions and sand to same profile as old.

Did you notice how flat the nose is? I do not see them on Imperials site. I've tried on several occasions to contact them and have never rec'd email or a return phone call.

I have an email into Brunswick so I'll see what they come back with. Thanks for the reply!

It was about 7 years ago when I ordered them from Imperial I think, maybe MBS has them. Would be better to put on a whole new set of Northern IMO..... who knows when the other ones will go bad etc

Much better playing, and the table would be more consistent versus having 1 new and 5 old. All up to the customer but you may have to buy a set of 6 anyways.

Thanks Bob - never knew Meullers carried them also.

And I would never replace just one cushion for anyone (except myself of course :wink:) I always tell customers that once one cushion goes the rest will follow as they are "generally" made in the same batch.

Although my pictures don't really reflect it, whoever did these the first time did a great job IF they were custom cut!

Still waiting on cloth because my customer was torn on which color to go with. They are British and had like a Titan british green before and have decided on Simonis 760 dark green. Just completed the cushions and although they are time consuming, not bad to work on. Here's are a few pics:

Hey Rick - what's 4000? I thought about suggesting the Rapide 300 but it's only a 9' table so figured it would be a little too fast. They've had the table for over 30 years and with Titan (or comparable) on it so, didn't want them going into shock :eek:

OK, just answered it myself! Went to your old website and see it listed there. Had never heard of it until 30 seconds ago. I've only recovered a handful of snooker tables in the past so never had the need for the knowledge.....til now!

It's true snooky cloth. 100% wool and directional.
 
My 6x12 Burroughes & Watts snooker table rubbers are black and the top of the rubber is like 3" wide. A wide and flat rubber with the L shaped flat face. Sure hope I never need to find new ones! Simonis 4000 is snooker specific cloth and if I'm not mistaken it's 100% wool. I order Strachan wool snooker cloth from England. Pretty pricey but very nice cloth.Both have a nap and should be installed smoothe toward the rack end. Good looking job Robin

I have a friend just outside London that is a third generation snooker mechanic or "fitter" as they say over there. He works on about as many pool tables there as we do snooker tables here.Almost all his work is snooker (snooka)as he says. He definitely has my respect!!:grin: Snooker tables are a JOB!!
 
What a pain in the ass covering these with 760! I think I'd either pass on doing them again or use the right "snooka" cloth next time. They turned out OK but I had to feel out the right tug on the cloth to keep from pulling the flat nose down.....kinda like keeping the puckers out of standard cushions. Never used so many staples at the pockets in my damn life :speechless: We reassemble the table Saturday so if I remember to take my camera, I'll get some pics of the whole table.
