Would the United States be better off with having the Mosconi Cup, Be 1p instead of 9 ball games ? When played in the United States...

While most of the top Europeans skipped the Derby this year, in 2022 at the Derby City one pocket, it was Gorst finishing first, Appleton third and Grabe and Shaw were tied for 4th. Filler had a top five this year at the Derby one pocket and has beaten Chohan in action in a race to 30,
A one pocket Team Europe of Gorst, Appleton, Shaw, Filler and Grabe would pose a stiff challenge.
Of course, extremely few would watch the Mosconi if it were one pocket, but that's another matter.

No. We would still lose by the same margin. We would gain one player, Tony.
If Europe knew the game was one pocket, they’d all practice for one month and be even. We saw this with every Filipino that ever lived (and came to gamble in the USA) and most recently with Filler.
If it was a pure surprise announced at the lag, we’d be closer, but still lose.

They'd probably get blown at 14.1 as well. 10 years of rigorous development might get 'em on credible footing. Oh wait, what's that over there...
to me, tony and shane would be top dogs of both teams. also billy is a better one pocket player relative to the competition than he is a 9-ball player. fifth spot could be chip, oscar, maybe frost. i think it would be much more even than 9-ball.
a filipino team with dennis, gomez, bustie, efren, kiamco could probably beat them both

I still think it would be fun to see him in a team environment, shorter races, high pressure/fan involvement scenario. Some people thrive in that, others not so much. I think he might rise to the occasion.
I doubt he would try his luck with Fedor Gorst, the 2022 Derby City 1-pocket champion. I also doubt he'd chance matching up with Filler, who beat Chohan in an action match race to 30.
For Team USA, don't leave out Josh Roberts, the silver medalist at the 2022 Derby City one pocket event.
Put Pagulayan, Filippino by birth, in for Kiamco and you've got a crazy-strong Team Philippines.
