Mosconi Cup to play on Metro

For sure the home urf of Holland will play well for the Euro's. The home crowd will surely barrack for their team - playing into the Pearl's hand and firing up the Yanks. The Blue Brunswick Metro will be a sure hit with the players, WPA pocket specs should make it a tight race for all. In the end it will be TEAM USA bringing the cup home.

The European fans will be nice and respectful.
We will not shout: Europe Europe after every shot.
Personaly I hope Niels Feijen shoots the winning nine in a game against Earl and jumping twice in the final rack. This way I am sure that Earl will complain for 7 hours in the plain back!

Europe has a strong group with friends and that will make the differance!

GO EUROPE!!!

If Niels did that to Earl I would die a happy man. Oh wait he already did that to Earl at this years US Open ;) But to close out the Mosconi Cup that would be even better.

I can't wait to see the crowd at the Mosconi Cup, I bet Holland will bring 300-500 strong over the course of the tournament, a great place to stage the Mosconi Cup. With Europe fielding it's best team in the history of the event they will win.

Berry, only about a month to go!

Yeah the USA was great!! Niels got a third spot after last years fifth place.

I got the feeling that team USA is not realy a team but more some good individual players.....

That's Matchroom's bad luck. The wild and crazy and, with rare exception, civil outbursts of nationality regularly found in European soccer would lead me to believe that Europeans are more inclined than Americans to such demonstrative behavior.

I'll never forget when I went to my first international soccer match at Wembley stadium in London. I was about twelve. Even on the underground train, the fans of the English side were already singing passionately, much as they would again when the game itself began.

No, Berry, my observations would suggest that European fans are slightly more passionate and demonstrative than Americans when it comes to sporting events. Actually, I admire them for it.

I don't think these passionate outburts of nationalism at sporting events are a matter of respect and courtesy.

Speaking for myself, it would be good for pool if the Europeans cheered and cheered and cheered some more, because, in the end, the future of this potentially great (and already good) event is inseparable from the matter of how excited the fans get about it.

I remember the UK fans were pretty passionate in 2002 when Europe won, they were singing and dancing circles around York Hall. I would rather see a crowd be cheering and making noise than see one that is completely poker faced.

Saw Tony Robles today. He's raring to go. Said he's not leaving for Holland for a couple of days, though. Was glad to have a chance to wish him good luck.

Coupe of days or a couple of weeks  The event doesn't start for about a month, Tony is a nice addition to the US team and a class act.

You're right, he's not going to Holland yet. My mistake, I misunderstood him. As you say, quality guy.

Sure wish I were going!

European fans are indeed funny dressed and passionate with soccer. With pool we also like to have a good atmosphere but we are not so nationalistic as the Americans. But I guess we will be shouting Europe, Europe!
We will do our best to make it a wonderful atmosphere and the best Mosconi cup ever.....for Europe that is ;)

Hope to see some people from the states come over and enjoy the Mosconi cup and off course Holland!!!

Any of you going?

Is anyone else going to the Mosconi cup from this forum

Nobody from this giant poolforum is going to the legendary Mosconi Cup 2004?? That's hard to believe. I understand that if you are a USA supporter you keep a low profile!! ;)
