Matchroom just announced that the prizes will be raised to $40k for each winner.

It will be at Alexandra Palace which is a great venue especially if you haven't seen London yet.
 
Tickets went on sale this morning.

I just checked airfare and the cheapest I could find with checked baggage from SFO was $850 round trip, which is not bad.

For those who don't mind budget travel, there is a hostel right down the hill from Alexandra Palace -- Green Rooms. Thin walls, noisy, showers don't work well, $60 per night, or about $110 if you want a single with bathroom. I was considering it as an experience, but then I got a place downtown.

I recommend getting a hotel close to the Piccadilly underground line. Heathrow is on one end and Alexandra Palace is on the other end.
 
Matchroom put up some more tickets recently. Pickings are sparse on the final day but there are a few left in most categories.

Surprising that this late, MR has not announced captains especially Alex Lely's replacement as Europe captain. Usually they would announce captains in first quarter of year. Even JJ not announced yet it is his 4th year (and 3 year terms are more common)
Chatter is Karl Boyes, Niels Feijen are frontrunners for Europe captain
