Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

A good coach can prevent it from spiraling and getting out of control. It's obvious we're outclassed in the mental game and overall decision making. Two areas a good coach could come in handy.
So three wins in 18yrs is a coaching issue? I don't agree. They have better players overall, pure and simple

This is what room owners prefer nowadays, not players. The players don't have much of a choice.

Nothing matters in the US other than how easy it is to make a buck.
Could a good enough salesman convince the Asian and European room owners that their bottom line would increase dramatically if they just replace their big tables with 6.5 ft. valleys with 5 inch pockets? Show them a profit analysis of how much more money they would make with twice the number of small tables in the same space...

We can't be the only ones concerned with profit margins. 🤑 It would be like a black-ops business plan to flood our competitors with the same small tables in all the US rooms...:ROFLMAO:

At this level of play I’m going with the guys spending two weeks v one getting used to the time zone change, equipment, food, and just being more acclimated, relaxed, and prepared.

And BTW, MR is not going to be developing more talent here with a few more events. If that’s their thought they are dreaming and delusional. As others have pointed out, the pool situation in the US has been in decline for decades. What little pool is left is mostly on bar boxes.

The clock runs both ways +8hrs and -8hrs GMT

The fans are drunks first, being a pool fan a distant second. The more they drink the more belligerent they get as is expected. It’s just too over the top for me. How can it be scene as anything but the clown show that it is? One thing for sure, it’s not prestigious.

Here’s a question for you Yoda, if MR were systematically developing the US why not start with making their products available on mainstream media channels?
Its not free in the UK either. Its produced by Sky Sports which is a pay channel and not available in the US. How else are they supposed to show it? Are they required to show it free?

I bought it. I do every year How about a better option than DAZN is all.

MR used DAZN because they were already showing all of MR's boxing. The quality was fine but their accounting/subscription left a lot to be desired. They must be doing something right, they have something like 20mill. subscribers globally.

Except they are incompetent at getting any sort of entertainment to the US market. Seems like that would be important.

Most people in the US can't figure out where to watch it, how to watch it, what time to watch it, and what the score is. Here is an example for you:

Any two-bit technical team can figure out how to display the end user's timezone-adjusted scheduling, but this team cannot. Even the youtube channels list the wrong times.

Good luck developing a market and/or an audience when they can't even figure out what time to watch your product.
It was pretty easy to go to the actual Mosconi Cup site and other places including newspapers online and find start times, generally shown as ET, interestingly enough. Matchroom showed "local time" in its summary of schedule and pretty easy to Google the conversion from London time - takes a couple of seconds.

Would have been nice for a better designation on those pictures, not disagreeing (but at the same time what do you want - likely U.S. time because that's what works for you, but the viewing audience is all over the world) but showing London time really makes the most sense for those two pics - I guess they should have put "GMT" but seems like not much of an issue overall - just not hard to find the info.

Just suggesting there are maybe a lot bigger issues out there - folks that want to watch know how to find it and had plenty of time in advance of the event to figure it out.

I enjoyed DAZN a few years ago for some pool and snooker but as some point it just wasn't worth it any more and seemed to be less available to see as time went by, but it's been awhile so maybe I'm not remembering correctly.

Agree 100%. The success of MR/WNT/MC is not riding on how easy it is to find stream schedules. I've known since i was about ten what the time difference is to the UK. Maybe i'm just a friggin genius. No, that definitely ain't it. ;)

never said it showed US time, just the time. you really think not showing all the time corrections is holding the event back? can't be serious. btw its on the main page of the MC site. just scroll down. shows score, time, today's matches. if someone can't figure this out i don't know what to tell them.
The lack of easy-as-possible UI is not something that should be ignored though, if one intends to have a globally marketable product.

There's a clip on youtube w Karl and he points out that the Euros aren't on social media during the event while Billy is posting on fb, athletes in other sports make it a point to avoid social media during any playoffs/major events. He also says that the US did much better when Johan coached them which I totally agree with and it's just a playing captain this year. Also mentioned that Shaw is an in your face type of guy on/off the table and Tyler isn't he's more like Neils and it hurts him to try to pull WWE type promos/antics but Shaw feeds off of it.

The only good news is the US can't do any worse, that's the only reason I'll watch at this point!

Yes, because the largest and most lucrative target market for your product should be required to go to 5 different sites and find timezone translation tools to figure out what time they can use your product, after paying you to use it. That is just a brilliant business model!
