The crowd has always been abusive to the opposing team! Check the full matches from last year in matchroom's YT channel if you need a quick and recent reminder and hear the american crowd cosplaying like a pack of hyenes, just like the european crowd does here! It happens every year!

yes true but in the past when a player goes down on the shot, the referee usually raises his arm to quiet them down, but this year its different....as someone mentioned that maybe MR made this decision to leave the crowd do what they want even if the player is shooting...so its completely a whole different ball game here.
I would never made easy balls if crowd shouts like this as I am firing my backstroke let alone a tough shot in a hill-hill match.
First time I've seen it as well. And I've been watching for about a decade.
Ridiculous and unexcusable that the ref didn’t even attempt to quiet the crowd. Can you imagine that ever happening on a crucial match deciding putt in the Ryder Cup - Never. The culprits would be arrested and banned for life!

I hate to say it but even when played in the U.S. the EU crowd are far louder, and meaner....I've seen it in the past, because U.S. crowds are kinda more respectful to the game so that what happened....note that I am partial to both sides, I don't resign in any of these two areas but thats what I've witnessed
So yea next year when played in the U.S. soil, I think the Europe will still be louder due to the respect Americans have for the game, just my opinion.
