THE Official Table of the 2007 PartyPoker.net Mosconi Cup will be the new Brunswick Gold Crown V Tournament Edition.
Following on from the Brunswick Metro, which was used at the '04, '05 and '06 events, the new Gold Crown is the latest version of the American design classic which was first manufactured in 1961.
Taking place from Thursday, December 13 to Sunday, December 16 at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, the Mosconi Cup features two five-man teams representing the USA and Europe doing battle in a Ryder Cup-style series of singles and doubles matches to determine the destination of the historic trophy.
Launched to rave reviews at this year's Billiard Congress of America Show in Las Vegas, The Gold Crown V is destined for upscale billiards establishments, tournament use and international dealers. It replaces the Gold Crown IV which was introduced in 1997.
"The Gold Crown is the oldest billiards table model in production and it sets the standard around the world for its unmatched quality, accuracy and playability," said Debbie Groshek, brand manager for Brunswick Billiards. "New features in the Gold Crown V signal an important evolution in the greatest name in billiards."
This table features a new apron extrusion which provides a bolder, stronger stance accented by new 45-degree, brushed-nickel corner pocket castings. The Gold Crown V is available in mahogany or matte black with nickel trim.
"The Brunswick Gold Crown V is a world-class pool table, engineered for those who demand the very best. This table is the professional players' table of choice," added Groshek.
Barry Hearn, Matchroom Sport Chairman, said: "The Brunswick Gold Crown stands as a bench mark for the best in pocket billiards tables and we are delighted to welcome it back to the Mosconi Cup."
