That is the other option...if you want to make it a continental tournament.
Sounds like an opportunity. Go for it.
I really don't think matchroom is taking direction from us on its product.

The Mosconi Cup should be called the Macaroni cup...call me when we have an actual world cup with USA versus ENG and PHI versus CHA etc...USA versus EUROPE lol...that's a country versus a continent. Also, it should be rebranded the World cup of pool. The Mosconi Cup should be a separate event for individual players...and it should probably be a straight pool tournament to keep it in the spirit of Mosconi.
I don't care who wins...but the Europeans should be embarrassed about winning it when they pick their team from the whole of Europe.
Why wouldn't that be fair?
You already answered your own question in post 18. I couldn't answer it any better.
It would still be unfair. Just would be in the favor of the US. So what if they have a larger "pool" (pun intended) of players to choose from. We just need to pull our thong out of our ass, act like we have a pair, and do the job that needs to be done. Like Americans have always done. But that was before the pussification of our culture by libturds.
Why do they have to even things up at all? Let US dominate if they can...gives the other countries incentive to get better. What's if the olympics followed suit lol...they don't...your country be out of the medal round for decades.
I didn't say we had to even things up. You did. And guess what? They ARE better then us..... in many areas. It's their mental approach to the game. It's the way they practice....It's the way they avail themselves to the fine points of the game. Yes. Right now they are better as a whole. We are the one that have to improve.
If that's the case then they should put a winning team together from their own country. How are you guys not seeing the glaring flaw here with a COUNTRY playing against a CONTINENT!!!????
These Europeans shouldn't be celebrating after a win...they should be shaking hands with the US with a look of shame on their faces.

I have seen their faces after victories in 13,15 and 17 and there is no shame. It is a cool event and successful for the promoters(Euros)and the Euro players and fans.
If it aint broke dont fix it, its only broken if you are a USA player or fan![]()
I get the feeling you are the type of person that blames his own faults and inabilities on everybody else but himself. And I think you do have had another ID on here. You remind me strongly of somebody.
It is what it is. We already have a World cup of Pool. This is the Mosconi Cup. Don't like it? Don't watch it. Or.... start your own format and production to "fix" the problems you say we have. Good luck.
It's a country against a continent lol...how are you guys not seeing the problem here? If the US is so strong that they have to be handicapped by playing against an entire continent...then don't even have the event....or call it the Mosconi cup exhibition or something.

Maybe the biggest problem is that not everyone agrees with you. Free advice for what it's worth : get over it ... go play pool
Dave
Also, the players jumping around ass grabbing and fist pumping like they have never made a ball in their lives does not make it exciting...nor do the crowds acting up during the matches...it's a circus in its present form.
While I'll agree with you here, I also understand why it may seem like a circus. It's entertainment, buddy.
It's on TV, it's meant to excite attract new, youthful crowds/sponsors. Pool players know that this isn't what happens in pool rooms when players really play, but if you showed what an average pro tournament looked like on ESPN, no one would tune in.
Does "Deadliest Catch" show what fishing is really all about? Does "Survivor" give a good representation of what life alone in the jungle is like?
Read back a few threads in the forum a little bit, you'll see you're not bringing anything new to us here. Call it what you want, World Cup of Pool, Continental Cup, and make the Mosconi a straight pool event and see where your ratings land......
