So I'm fortunate enough to be able to attend the Cup this year! It'll be my first one live and in person. I'm really looking forward to it!

I just have some questions for some of you that have been to one before...

It says the event is Monday-Thursday. I'm wondering if there are any opening ceremonies or anything like that? About how long do the sessions last? How many matches per day? Things like that... Any input at all would be helpful. Thank you!

I knew there'd be a good group of folks from on here going! Haha. I'm tough to describe just an avg lookin 35 year old. Got 5 buddies coming with me too!

Can any of the more experienced MC fans fill us in?? Thanks everyone
 
I'm actually bringing my parents we try to take a vacation together every year. Looking forward to it.
 
Do you guys plan on wearing the official Mosconi Cup USA Jersey? I want to, in support of the team and to look cool, but that shit is $100, I already spent a lot on the flight, hotel, and tickets.
 
No I'm not going to wear the jersey I think that's a bit much. I'll be the one there begging for a Europe fan to get out of line!

I'm not doing the jersey thing myself but I'll be wearing some red white and blue of some kind every day!
 
I'm going for the first time too! I'm thinking I might be interested in playing some one pocket each evening after things wind down. Based on my experience, Pool Sharks is the place to play. If anyone thinks they want to join in, let me know. I'm cool playing cheap if the company is good. ;)

No real opening ceremony other than introducing of the players for the first match.
sessiosn last about 4 hous i think - could be longer but should start around 11 and done before 5 (at least on 2 years ago when i was there)...
format is 5 games each day
Day 1 - Team Dbls Sing Dbls Sing
Day 2 - Dbls Sing Dbls Sing Dbls
Day 3 - Dbls Sing Dbls Sing Dbls
Day 4 - Sing Sing Sing Sing Sing (if All Square i think its captains pick for a play off)

Ill be there in my Europe top :-)

have started playing this one pocket game lately.... Will have myself and 1 other friend who will most likely be in Pool sharks during the evenings playing one pocket if you want a game (need to be cheap ;-) )...

On the plane now! I'll probably be at Pool Sharks most nights (if not every night). I'm wearing a black ball cap with Laughing Lab Scottish Ale marked on the front of it...
 
Not much of an opening ceremony but the do take a few moments to school the crowd on how to be excited. :smile
 
First time going to see it live. Hopefully it will be exciting. Whether USA or Europe wins, it will nice to be see it with all the pool enthusiastic people. Bought my ticket online, whats with the assigned seating or is it first come first serve basis? Thanks!
