Mosconi Cup Start Time

Earl congratulated Mika. Then Mika snubbed him by putting his hand to his ear like "I can't hear you" and walked away. That ticked off Earl, (and rightly so), so he sign languaged Mika that he was #1. :D Then gently tossed a cup or something towards him and stormed off.

There may be history between them, but Mika was in the wrong here. And, he obviously wants to keep the history between them going.

Mika shaked his hand, then put up his hand to his ear to get the crowd scream more. Nothing wrong with that.

What Earl did was wrong, but I love it :)

whats the deal with races to 5?
all this travel and prep to play short races

It is a show for the tv-audience, and a real popular one too. And ALL the pros in Europe and America wants to play in it, and think of it as the best tournament there is...

After all either USA or Europe have to win 11 of those race to 5 matches to win the Cup.

I agree that the race might be a bit short, but if it was a race to 100 it would not be on Sky Sports, and it wouldn't be the most entertaining poolshow in the world.

JMHO

They could have up to 21 races to 5. The luck should even out imo.

He gave the audience the finger twice. Seconds after he handshaked Mika, and when he walked out of the arena.

Was it the same fan called him a TURD??

Could be. Didn't hear anyone calling him that, but wouldn't be surprised if anyone did. Earl likes to insult and bash the audience, and vice verca.

I have always been a big fan of Earl, and I still love to watch him play. His behaviour adds something extra to tournaments, and without players like him and Tony Drago, normal people would hate to watch pool.

Even my mom loves to watch Tony Drago and Earl Strickland.

Earl Strickland is like a box of chocolate - you'll never know what you're gonna get :D

i must admit this is exactly what I thought happened although i'm not 100% sure.

but it seemed to be backed up by the fact Mika came across so arrogant in his post match interview. and the presenter strikes me as a bit of a stirrer - i mean, where the hell did he get Earl saying Mika was lucky from?? Earl seemed to have been very polite to Mika.

People keep going on about this incident. Yet they don't say anything about the turd who was rightly upset when someone called him an "Earl".

What get's me is if you disagree with Earl's behaviour so much, why are you behving in much the same manner here?

It's all a bit of fun. Earl is like the pantomime baddie that people boo and hiss at. He's probably getting a bonus from Sky just to mutter darkly and swear at the audience.
