Mosconi Cup table pockets look over 4.5"

US is definietely hurt by their aggression. Always have been.
It helps in a longer race. Something like the US Open where you can still come back and you still have some room and time for error... but a race to 5 and alternate break... no chance.

Lmao, cry more about the easy pockets. USA team just happened to miss shots out of the pockets' forgiving zone.
Nobody says a word about the real problem of Rodney Morris acting tough like it's nothing but choke the sh*t out of everything, and Shane sadly just wasn't himself.
Really pissed me of watching RM, acting tough guys lol

How was Rodney acting tough? I watched all matches and he seemed pretty jovial and fun to be around, something Shane should try to be.

I also liked how Dechaine laughed when he was titty-hooked on the 9 ball but still made it, great attitude compared to last year.

Im crying aboout the pockets for the sake of the tournament, not for US. I will be the first to admit, the Euros played considerably better then us on day 1.

Also, what the hell are you talking with Rodney acting tough? I'm not a Rodney fan personally but I didnt see him "acting tough". Seemed pretty jovial to me.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that that the pockets were playing oddly forgiving.

Is it the cloth (as I thought) or is it the table / cut of the pockets? After taking a closer look at them the shelf doesn't look very deep, but this could be an illusion.

I know for certain that a lot of those balls down the long rail would never drop at my hall.

I should have said more. Yes I meant acting jovial to give the impression that he's mentally tough and this is a piece of cake.
But it's kind of backfiring and made him look ridiculous when he played like an amateur.
I'm pretty sure he would shoot better by showing seriousness, not European seriousness but his way, the same composure when he played individual tourneys, relaxed but still focus, not like this.
Sorry for the grammar lol im in a rush

New slick cloth, pockets that take in anything, odd rolling table, all on a major event. Wish there was a way to stop using just whatever a sponsor gives them and use a proper worn-in table. I remember when my pool hall replaced the rails and put on new cloth, I'd miss shots that I knew I missed, and the ball still went in. Not conditions you want for a pro event. I just hope Fisher Price does not start to look into pool or we'd have the US Open played on a 5' plastic table using My Little 9 Ball pool set.

This is mind boggling. When I read all these posts, I wonder if people have actually played on new cloth that often? When a table has new cloth, there's no chalk and dirt to slow the table, or add "grip" to the surfaces. Balls will slide into the pockets fairly easily. The rail doesn't grab the ball and impart any spin.

Isn't new cloth the standard for major tournaments, especially on the TV table? Not these guys' first rodeo, after all.

Yep....but the flight, the brand of table, the venue and distractions take time for a player to adjust. My hopes, Dechaine will be the key to turning things around, someone said his composure is good, that's trouble for anyone and could infect our entire team in a positive way.
