Who will be the final players for this year's Team USA Mosconi cup? I heard one of the Dominguez is in, is it Ernesto or Oscar? Thanks.

Bergma, SVB, Schmidt, Sossei, Hall

this is my thoughts, don't agree with that selection but think who will be in it.

That's a good list. The thing is most of Team Europe are former and current world champions.

No idea, but we'll know soon enough, shortly after the open.

Shane and Bergman seem like locks. After that, we'll see.

If Cory beats Shaw tonight, he should be in on that match alone. shaw is shooting that good.

I agree Jayson is in great form. So far, it has been a good week for the Joss Tour giants, Dechaine and Shaw, two rivals (and friends, too) who have strengthened each other's competitive pedigree.

If Corey gets past eight racks, it's pretty darn good. Still, Corey has a shot at this one for sure.

I know mike Dechaine won't make it but it should be Shane, Dechaine, bergman, hall, and Corey. I think Oscar is close but I would take those 5 over him.

Frankly,mI'm more interested lately in who will man Team Europe, as there hardly been any mention.

There are three automatic spots available on Team Europe drawn from three separate rankings; the Euro Tour rankings made up of five events, a World event list made up of the China Open, World 9-ball Championship and October’s US Open, and a list combining all eight events. The remaining two players will be wildcard picks. -looks like the US Open will be deciding factor in 2 of the three automatic spots

Congrats to Corey Deuel on his wonderful win over Jayson Shaw. Figured him on the squad already, but this fine win should cement his place on the team.

Fighting for 1 spot...

In my opinion, I believe the team will be a majority of younger players with two veterans anchoring at the top...

I think amongst those young players two are guaranteed locks and have earned their spot amongst the team with their veteran counterparts. Which leaves 1 position up in the air and for grabs.

My list is...

1) Shane Van Boening
2) Corey Deuel
3) Justin Bergman
4) Justin Hall

The final spot I think is still up for grabs and arguments can be made for any of the remaining players based on their track record and skill set. I think the biggest thing to consider is team chemistry and professionalism as those two things are at the core of what coach Wilson is looking to curate in the contemporary American pocket billiards game.

My initial instinct is to fill that 5th spot with someone who's top notch class, consistent in their approach and game and is a solid role / team player. I can think of two names that fill that ideally and that's Oscar Dominguez and Jeremy Sossei. One can argue that Sossei has had a better playing record in competitive tournaments this year and with Oscar's current work load that is more than understandable. But Oscar has been there before and knows the environment.

Just my observation but I wouldn't be surprised if this was our team USA for 2014 Mosconi Cup.

Go get em boys!

Well, when you've got the last three world 9-ball champions to choose from in Feijen, Hohmann and Appleton, it's pretty hard for Europe to go too wrong.
