Mosconi Cup week 2018

We had Hatch, we had Filler, now it seems that it is Shaw`s year to behave like an a**hole.

yep it seems playing in britain in front of his friends brings out the worst. i hate to see this, even if i'm happy for the point. one fist pump is ok, but that's it. celebrating a f...ing safety like a retard? i miss souquet..

What was more amazing was celebrating in the final rack on maybe the 5-ball. However confident you are...that is premature, even the best of the best have missed under pressure!

Yup, nothing wrong with a high five with your team mate or a thumbs up to the fans after a won rack and even an outburst after the match is understandable, but if you celebrate before all balls are down, you are just calling for something bad to happen.

And imo it is very disrespectful to your opponent too.

it was disrespectful and also tempting the pool gods. hes overcompensating for getting destroyed (with class might i add) by shane yesterday and a small package in his pants.

I don't disagree (and I say that as a Brit), very odd behaviour...I think he'd got himself so worked up backstage that it all came out, but still surprising.

What is with the high pitched WOOOOOs? Do they think it sounds cool or intimidating? Moronic.

This must be your first time watching the cup. All of the times I've watched it goes on, even when they play in the U.S.

They serve beer in those stands last I knew and the Europeans are more passionate about the match and more boisterous in general. When was the last time you saw fans of a football game in a huge brawl like they have in soccer?

It's definitely not new but I haven't heard an explanation for where that WOOOO sound in particular comes from. I've never heard it anywhere else.

Kaci went for WAY too much on that straight-in 8-ball shot. Ouch.

Thorpe and Styer up 2-0 on Shaw and Kaci

I don't know either, but after watching Mosconi Cup matches over the last several years and seeing our team lose I'm really wanting the U.S. to go there and just destroy them and shut up that crowd.

They should have given Styer extra time on that 9 ball shot with all the yelling in the background - and in fact the referee looked close to stopping play. He made it anyway. 4-1

Its been going on for years and even though I've been there myself virtually every year (apart from this one) in London I still haven't worked it out!

I think sometimes (on here) people moan unfairly about the loud atmosphere...however on that point I agree with you, the timing is often intended to put off the player (generally a US player).

Most of the European fans want to cheer...loudly and show support, but they want to win fairly and will be quiet on the actual shot, there's only a few idiots that try to put off the players, but they probably do give the rest of us a bad rep :-(

They should (and have in the past) when that happens, I seem to remember Michalla doing it a few times.

Shaw hits the 8-ball out of turn and the Americans have ball in hand on an open table for the win.

You have to wonder whether Kaci is struggling with the shot clock.

I like the loud atmosphere. The Mosconi Cup to me is the best and most fun pool match to watch.

What a zoo........

I don't see how the USA guys ever make a ball or concentrate amidst all that yelling and shouting.
Man, that crowd gets quiet when their heroes step up though.
Craziness.

Whaaat?! Can't watch rt now, wish I could have seen that. Maybe he was thinking how he was gonna work the crowd up after he made the eight.
