Mosconi Cup

I think today we will all see a steady dose of Johnny Archer. If i were captain I would pair him up with Dechaine and I would also have him play a singles match. If USA doesnt win the first two matches today and get it back to 3-4, I think its over. They have to put their strongest players up first today.

A soccer Huligan accompanied the European team. He is the one who constantly screamed " Eurub","Eurup", "Eurub" cheering for the Eurabs. The way he has been screaming, I wonder what will happen to his voice by sunday and how that word " Europe" will sound coming from a hoarse voice.

Johny Archer`s wife was the leader of the American side to launch the counter attack slogans on that Soccer Huligan. She asked the spectators to start that " wave" but the spectators did not follow her lead to create a "wave".

There were lots of Brits in the crowd and you can tell they are Brits -each guy carying 2-3 beers in their hands.

well when hes a hooligan for screaming "EUROPE" ill say the guys yelling USA are homer simpsons (ITS A JOKE BECAUSE HOMER ALWAYS YELLS IT) :D

(i wrote this in big so no1 gets the idea id be anti american)

He said something along the lines of "it would be better to have someone from a different sport captaning the team". "Have good coaching skills and stuff"...I feel it was his nice way of saying he doesnt like Charlie

I dont understand this coment, what does he mean, someone from another sport,a football player, coach our pool team?

@above me: exactly.

because the guys playing actually dont need any playing advise (they are already top) youd need a guy ONLY concentrating on the mental side. IMHO other sports have already an advantage because coaching exists longer there (f.e. tennis)

Richie,

He said this in a recent TAR podcast before he played Earl. I can only speculate what he meant, he'd have to translate but here's what I got.

He was NOT bashing Charlie Williams as someone else alluded to. He simply stated that he'd like to see someone from a different sport, that has had success in their sport, captain Team USA.

Just for a different perspective. After all, being a captain does not mean you have to be able to play the sport but have strong leadership qualities.

This was just my take, others may have interpreted differently..

Peace, JoeyK

I would never have put Shane in back-to-back matches unless there was no other way. It's too risky. He sometimes needs a little more time to recover from a loss. I've noticed that about him back since he was a junior.

Being a coach is not just about matching up players. You have to know your players' personalities and strive to bring out the best in them. Also, you can't try to train them to be what you want them to be. You have learn who they are and what their triggers are and work with them in that way.

Yep..... +1

That guy sounds like a broken down barely able to function low IQ drunk! 'Europe' does not lend itself to a good chant with the accent on the first syllable like that idiot is doing.

One good thing about it-he sounds so idiotic, none of the Euros want to join in and be seen following a cretin.

If I recall correctly, we ALL had a lot to drink last time in Vegas. Funny, no USA hats this year, that's for sure. Not as much focus on the crowd by the cameras. Prolly for the best. In any case, regardless of yelling for one team or another, the Euro's that I met at the MGM two years ago were some of the nicest people I've ever met. Period. And at the end of the day, there are a select group that should be cheering for anyone anyway. The teams themselves. That way, the crowds can focus on what they do best. Drink, chat and reach across the pond.
