Mosconi Updates Please

Thanks. And where can I watch it live streaming? And what time frame has it been airing live EST time zone?

You mean Mosconi cup 2014, right. Event particulars won't be disclosed until next year. If you are referring to the 2013 which concluded today, you've missed the boat.

Nonsense. The current European team/teams have this format down to an art form. The Philippines could put together a strong team or two, obviously, but the Europeans being 2-1 dogs or worse? Ludicrous.

It's ludicrous to think the Europeans won because of the format.

They won because they were the better team this year. Much, much better. They kept their emotions in check, and nobody does that better than the Filipinos.

So yes, this Team Europe would be underdogs to the top 5 Filipinos (Bustamante, Corteza, Orcullo, Biado, Alex) in any format. In fact, I'll even go as far as to say there's nobody on Team Europe that would even be a favorite against one of those 5 Filipinos. And I'm not just talking about a race to 100.

Quick question, and obviously it no longer matters.

But why was Team USA being introduced first in the matches? Aren't they considered the home team?

I think Philippines v Team Europe would be razor close

No way one team runs away with it

Is Barry Hearn really open to messing with the 20 year tradition ?

But he cant afford to have another year with the US team not having a chance. Although i guess there were many years when Europe didn't have a chance (although i loved watching the likes of Steve Davis, Jimmy White, Alec Higgins and Ronnie O Sullivan play 9ball)

Next year at home, boy it's gonna be tough

Alex is Canadian

Alex is Canadian

I know, but he's still Filipino right? So until they make it a requirement that you be a citizen of the country you're representing...

But I'm sure there are other actual citizens of the Philippines that could take his place.

copied from the other thread, and also needs to be posted HERE:

It's a shame that SVB missed the All Japan Championship to only play 2 matches in the Mosconi Cup.

Nah, he got to play 4 matches -- the Team match, a singles loss to Immonen, and two doubles wins (with Morris and Strickland).

Sorry, I meant two that counted.

I think if everyone on America's team were wearing a patented Shane Van Boening pink t-shirt, the score would've been much different.

I love it how the Americans continually try to create new gaffe games to be introduced as some kind of standard. Like no side pockets. Or races to 100, etc. the world got smaller for the USA. They are no longer the dominant force. That's why no American can win an event with an international field, which is only defined as a field with half the players from Europe and Asia (which must contain Chinese, Taiwanese and Japanese players). And yes, the US open is not an international event. Can't be considered a major without full representation from those countries.

Hold on!! I wasn't talking about changing any event. More for home use!!!
I was just thinking about how playing on a table with no side pockets would be!! LMAO I think it would be different for sure, and who knows how tough it actually would be??
Might be a boat load of fun!!!!
If you had a table like that and practiced on it,,,,,and then,,,went to a table with side pockets!!!!! It would be gravy!!!!
