Good stuff here, Dave. Thanks for including Shane's shot at 1:44, which occurred in the semis of the 2022 World 9ball.

Using a bank to open a cluster while caroming in a ball is one of the most imaginative shots I have ever seen. It led to an almost unfathomable runout that ensured that Shane would reach (and ultimately win) the final of the World 9ball. Given the size of the moment, it's firmly in the conversation for the best shot of this decade so far.

I saw Alex Kazakis just weeks later at the UK Open and mentioned that shot to him, and he, similarly, called it one of the greatest shots he had ever seen.

Good stuff Doc!!!!

I got to make some cool bank shots over the years and even though I called some of them (don't need to in 9ball but I did mean it), I still consider them all as lucky shots...

How about those pros? did they jusy got lucky? I'm sure that if you set up the same shots for them, they won't make them 10 of 10 on most of the shots there.

if you look at max and shane's shot there, that's not luck in any way. they almost take the bank for granted rather. for alcaide and melling, obviously it was no guts no glory at that point.

it's just madness how good the likes of fedor, filler, billy etc are at banking. while filler's run in the DCC banks semis and final last year was wild (10 in a row or something), i saw him play a john doe in an early round and display the sickest banking i've ever seen. no pressure there of course, but the skill level is just mad

Agreed. That was a special shot. I also included it in my SVB Tribute video since it was such a great shot:

Agreed. Many shots that make it into videos like this are not always “high percentage.”

Very nice compilation. It just wouldn't be the same without Efren and Melling.

One shot I neglected to include was SVB's jump-two-rail-bank-combo against Alex:

Can you guys think of any other famous or impressive shots that should have been included in my pro bank shot compilation (9-ball, 10-ball, or 8-ball)?

My favorite memory is a straight back bank I watched Cole make.
Playing Harry one pocket at 1,000 a game with a small spot.
The object ball was in the kitchen and about a diamond from the side rail. Whitey was foot spot length but dead straight back. Whitey jumped a foot high at impact. The object ball split the wickets and Whitey sat on the point of impact.
Kah Ching.
