Most attractive -NO POINTS- NO RINGS CUE - NO INLAYS

My sarcasm detector is drenched in Sierra Nevada.

Really?

Cues need be about playability, IMO.

One of those I put up plays lights out. The other is fine.

I agree. How a cue plays is the main thing for me as well.

Heres an older ned morris cue,
I am in the same boat with you all, Like my cue plain, show off the wood for what it is, and playable. David

I'll have to see if I can get some pics up of my Abaya cue and the Martinez...

I never thought I would ever anguish over such a simple decision. In the past, most of the time, I would just look at the cuemaker's available cues and buy one, except for the POW-MIA tribute cue, now it seems like I am becoming a deranged monster as I look at all of the different possibilities with the unique woods. I guess I am kind of leaning toward figured woods.

Thanks to all who participated in this thread. It has been an eye opener for sure.

Oh yeah and NO WRAP! And not a lot of ebony or dark cocobolo.

I was just wondering if any of you have any photos of cues which don't have points, which don't necessarily have decorative rings, that you feel is very attractive.

I guess I am just wondering if a cue can be made of a particular piece of wood or woods that makes it look unique and attractive without points and decorative inlays.

If you have any photos or suggestions for combinations of wood or suggestions for very attractive but less decorated cues, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks,
JoeyA

Joey. Heres one of the prettiest 'plain wood' cues I've ever seen !

That Brazilian and Maple Varney looks very much like the one I paid a 475 deposit on.

needs ringwork

I ordered a cue from murray tucker back in 2001 with bacote forearm/buttsleeve and birdseye handle. He suggested some nice check rings. I accepted and very glad i did because the rings brought it all together imo. And the cue is still my favorite player.
Also back then Dennis Searing was playing with a simple birdseye cue with a tulipwood handle and rings. Sounds very simple but a very beautiful cue. Sorry no pics.
