I watch a ton of pool (accu-stats etc). I find while I enjoy watching all the greats there are some players I find to be more inspirational tha others. By that I mean, either makes me feel like I can get back I to stroke, motivate me to get better, emulate or just get off my butt and play. When in stroke and in their prime the tops of my list would be:
Earl- back in the 80s and 90s man what a an explosive game- when he would start 2 stroking it look out.

Bustamante
Buddy hall
Efren
Corey
Orcullo

Who does it for you and why?

McCready because he's so fluid...a natural for sure.
I also like watching morro play...he grinds like no other.
The lion and deuel as well.

Any filipino player is fantastic to watch. Creativity at its finest. Almost like artistic biiliards for the great ones.

In my later years it would be Alex. I learned a lot from just watching him play. Plus I'm short also. Johnnyt

i saw a guy at the derby(in the old joint) who had no arms play, and he could run balls. he lost his arms-yes both hands were gone, one up to the elbow. I watched him for hours on a bar box with a sling he rigged up to play. takes lots of heart to play when you dont have hands and a half arm to play. he could rob bangers too. he was not helpless. It was amazing lots of people saw him. thats inspirational to me, watching champions do what they do is cool, fun but not inspirational.

Excellent post.

I think I had seen a guy at the Indiana State Championship play and he used a bridge with "wheels" on it.

He was no slouch either...
