Most memorable stiff?

Well needless to say I went off the deep end and grabbed him by the neck at the same time the pizza delivery guy was walking in the pool room with ten pizzas. He fellt the need to drop the pizzas and defent the kid thinking I was just giving him a hard time but really did not know all the details.... Very ugly day it was LOL

I dunno, "needless to say" makes it sound like that's the automatic reaction anyone would have. But a lot of people aren't interested in getting in a bar fight over a regular pool bet.

Why would you risk getting beat up, or getting in trouble with the police, or getting banned from the pool hall over that shit?

I dunno that the pizza guy misunderstood anything. You acted aggressively towards another player, like you want to beat him up, and he wasn't attacking you. Pizza guy was right to see that as a case where one human being needed to be protected from another.

A guy asked me I wanted to play a race to 7 for 50.He said he would pay me the next day (Saturday) since he worked late that day and didn't have time to cash his check and could we play on the wire just in case he lost.We both agreed that I would pay if I lost and if he lost he would pay on the morrow and play some more.We both agreed that he would probably win anyway...

I win and am willing to play again but he declines.I don't see him again for 2 years. He is running a tourney in another town where I had just relocated to.He gives me a story or 9 kids and multiple wives ex wives and GFs.I tell him he is off the hook on one condition,he can never gamble on pool again unless he pays up.The dude gets real happy and says that is great and what a relief and he will never gamble on pool anyway,he is a responsible working man and father now.

Another year or so later I am back in the town we originally played in.I walk into the pool room and the guy is in a ring game.I go sit close to the ring game, but not real close to the table, but I am watching with rapt attention. He is doing pretty good, his game has improved alot.He looks up at me twice but doesn't say anything,I just keep watching intently. After about 20 minutes he walks over and hands me a 50.

This is how you handle a gambling debt! Hats off to you smoooothstroke!

My stiff came in the form of playing a guy on credit and him playing double or nothing until I wised up and said let's square it. He had nothing so he gave me his nice almost new Meucci Gambler. A few days later the cue was stolen from my car.

Later I thought...great! Two lessons on one screw up! Gambling on credit bad and never leave a cue in your car. :embarrassed2:

I am in the student union center at my college playing one of the college frat guys and have him stuck for $50 and he is on air. He says that he is working the door at the local club and that if I come down tonight that I can get in and drink for free. We go to the club and he makes good on his word but it cost me more in the long run......that night he introduced me to a cute girl that I married and became my wife......and that cost me my kid, my house, my car and 15 years worth of child support. I really wish he had just air barreled me instead of inviting me out. Would have been cheaper in the long run.
